Grape Pizza?

Rosebud05 · 10/12/2009 21:44

This has been bugging me for weeks and as the number of CBBs threads have increased with the darker evenings, I feel amongst kindred spirits.
Do people actually eat grape pizza? Was there nothing else in the CBBs kitchen the day they had to make that truly appalling filler? Will Katie stun us all with a fruit cocktail pizza one day?
Your thoughts please (if you're as desperately sad as I).

Just remembered I'm in AIBU. AIBU to not understand and truly detest the sodding grape pizza bit?

Never had grape pizza, although it sounds mildly appealing

Have you ever had an Afrikaana pizza? (think that's how it's spelled). It is pineapple and banana with a little bit of chilli and it is delish.

Pineapple on pizzas is wrong

But Grapes on pizza are totally, completely and unreservedly wrong and should not be allowed!!

Yuk!

morningpaper · 10/12/2009 21:49

I wondered if they originally had olives but realised children wouldn't like olives, so got a bit desperate and tried to find something else

no explanation makes sense though, does it?

nancy75 · 10/12/2009 21:50

i have actuallt had a mini argument with my dd about this, she told me katie had made grape pizza
"no dear it was probably olive, they look like grapes"
"no it was grapes"
and so on.
i saw the pereat the other day and it is grapes! who the bloody hell puts grapes on their pizza? and why?

CatIsSleepy · 10/12/2009 21:51

YANBU

i notice that sappy alex doesn't actually eat the grape

annabelcaramel · 10/12/2009 21:52

I was to find out she's only 23. I thopught she was mid 30s at least [i love the biscuit emoticon]

CatIsSleepy · 10/12/2009 21:53

wouldn't the juice in the grapes get scaldingly hot and result in hideous burns to the inside of your mouth?
it's madness I tell you

Nancy I had that exact argument with my dd. I LOVE grapes, but on a pizza? I think not...

paranoidmother · 10/12/2009 21:55

have found one
and
two pizza recipes with grapes on but it doesn't seem to be that popular

Hassled · 10/12/2009 21:57

In Italy we have had a chip pizza (cheers, DS1) and a lettuce pizza (we were mystified - it was iceburg). Grape pizzas sound reasonable to me.

annabelcaramel · 10/12/2009 21:57

She sings in a jazz combo too.

I know this because i googled her, such was my pathological irritation.

morningpaper · 10/12/2009 21:57

I sat and watched the whole programme because I just didn't understand what was happening

First those lights in Norway, then the starfish, then this

lordy annabel
does she scat?

no way is she 23

ButterPie · 10/12/2009 22:02

Meh- I had just got rid of the handwashing song out of my head! DD1 sings it every time she washes her hands, then it stays in my head until I get rid of it just in time for another handwashing moment. Grrr! Although it makes a change from the big cook little cook tidying up song.

Hmmm, maybe I watch too much cbeebies...

annabelcaramel · 10/12/2009 22:04

She got a first in drama. She has an agent. She does a lot of work with kids.

But there is something just so WRONG WRONG WRONG about her. The mere thought is making me do the raison face.

We're going to buy her a new t-shirt for christmas.

She gives the impression of hating children

And the laughter on the show is CANNED. Have you noticed? It's the same squeaky-boy giggling each time. THE ACTUAL CHILDREN DO NOT LAUGH.

Katy Ashworth
Full Biography
At only 23 years old Katy is new to TV but has definitely found a career that suits her talent. She is confident in front of the camera and appeals to all ages. She has warmth, likeability and humour and is also a skilled actor, singer and musician.

Katy has recently been chosen to host a new flagship CBeebies series combining all these performance skills called I Can Cook. Aimed at getting the under-sixes in the kitchen, the series celebrates a hands-on approach to cooking and discovers the magic of the full cycle of food. From the field to the fork, children learn to connect what's on their plate everyday with the world around them. The children learn how to grow it, cook it and eat it accompanied by Katy's original songs which she sings and plays on her guitar.

Katy studied Drama at the University of Exeter and achieved a first class degree. Whilst at university she was the Head Female Vocalist for their jazz orchestra and during her holidays she embarked on a four week intensive Commedia Dell'Arte course in Reggio Emelia in Italy. There she honed her improvisation and characterisation skills. Since then she has worked as Choir Director and President of the Universities Soul Choir in addition to being Choir Director for Rock Choir Plus Ltd, based at the Manor Pavilion Arts Centre in Devon. She also uses her excellent vocal skills when performing with the Sylvan Road Trio touring all round the country.

Katy has a natural bond with children and has spent much of her adult life educating and entertaining young kids through drama and music. She spent two years working as a freelance class facilities for Stage Coach Theatre Arts teaching 3-6 year olds and was the narrator for the 'Princess Bride Summer Tour' in Devon. She is an accomplished storyteller and is co-workshop leader for 'Little Sparks Storytelling' based at the Electric Theatre in Guildford. She's had great fun working at Disneyland in Paris as a character and parade performer and one of her highlights was travelling to Lapland and acting as the Arctic Express Elf!!! This love of entertaining a young audience has also led to her organising children's themed parties and events - locally in her home town of Hampshire and subsequently at the Dubai Shopping Festival where she also face painted for the children.
She has a love of radio and spent time working voluntarily at Frimley Park Hospital Radio Station in her youth.

Katy is professional, enthusiastic and ambitious and will undoubtedly be a success in everything she does.
