to wish that Cerrie and Alex from Cbeebies would get a personality?

I just don't rate these 2 as presenters at all. They seem very wooden and not at all natural. Chris and Pui are great. And Andy and Sid are also good. Just don't like Cerrie and Alex.

I think that Alex is a bit wet, but that Cerrie has a bit more about her now. My DD loves them, so they must be doing something right.

I prefer them to Chris and Pui - I find them rather grating on Show Me, Show Me.

lillychristmaspuddingandpie · 09/12/2009 09:50

I just wish they would go away!
Chris and Pui are legends

LastTrainToNowhere · 09/12/2009 10:02

I hate Cerrie's softly-softly voice. You really don't have to simper at children, you know!

Poledra · 09/12/2009 10:08

A personality each, or just the one to share? [innocent face emoticon]

Glitterknickaz · 09/12/2009 10:11

Yep.
They've been in the job a while and really aren't settling to it still.
They're wooden and Alex has the most fake rictus grin at times.

BalloonSlayer · 09/12/2009 10:19

Alex is certainly wooden. Reminds me of this fellow

CatIsSleepy · 09/12/2009 10:23

oh they are so wet
well alex is wetter actually
can't bear them singing the bedtime song

OrmIrian · 09/12/2009 10:35

Or better still, 2 personalities

Sarahpo · 09/12/2009 10:43

haha i like this thread those two are wet wet wet and i hate that daft moronic smile at the end

Brunettelady · 09/12/2009 15:13

Oh god! Don't me started on the bedtime song and the smile at the end!! I thought it was just me! Great to know I'm not alone.

Poledra - made me laugh. One between them would be a vast improvement.

Sorry Santaschristmas, we love Show me Show me. My DS jumps about talking about Chris and Miss Mouse. No way are the Wooden tops better than Chris and Pui!!

LOVED Chris and Pui and was so pleased when they came back on show show. Slowly getting used to Cerrie but really could live without Alex. My favourite is Sid without doubt. Have a small, mummy type crush similar to the one I have on the guy who runs our music class

StealthPolarBear · 09/12/2009 15:35

ooh I love the bedtime song, means it's almost bedtime And DS sings along which is lovely.
Agree about Sid though...

Sarahpo · 09/12/2009 16:32

I like Gigglebiz i actually think its funny

Is that really sad?!!

MarioandLuigi · 09/12/2009 16:38

The best bit of CBeebies is the look of surprise on Cerrie's face when she sees the moon through the window in the bedtime song.

I like her though, Alex is a bit strange and he has a very wrinkly forehead.

StealthPolarBear · 09/12/2009 16:44

I like Gigglebiz Gigglebiz ho ho ho

Sarahpo · 09/12/2009 16:53

I think the characters on Gigglebiz are funny

I see a bit of me in Nana Knickerbocker

:-)

NoChristmasMojo · 09/12/2009 17:03

hate the way she pulls that stupid open-mouthed surprised expression all the time or the lips together & eye brows raised thing & Chris gives me the creeps!

I think gigglebiz is on the wrong channel - (should be on cbbc) it goes way over my toddlers head but then maybe it is meant for the grown ups rather than the ankle biters! He loves the song though... Giggle biz giggle biz HO ho ho!

Brunettelady · 09/12/2009 19:43

I haven't seen Gigglebiz, I saw the adverts and it put me right off. Loved Something Special but Gigglebiz looks like an excuse for Justin to prat around in costumes. Maybe he could crossdress in his own time.

I know presenters have to be a certain way but I just can't stand the total cheesiness of Cerrie and Alex and their fake surprise. Also the new bit in the morning where they 'drive' a car, thats what inspired me to start the thread.

Also, is Sid the black guy? And does the other one (Andy? I'm not actually sure which one is which) look like Vernon Kay? I think so but my lookalikes don't usually look much like the people I think they do.

Alex and Cerrie give me the creeps with their 'making the bed at snail's pace' bit at the beginning of the hallowed bedtime hour.
And I truly wanted to cry when that bloody 'grape pizza' filler came on yet again the other day.
My dd has a bit of a thing about Rapids Johnson and his panda at the mo, so Gigglebiz is alright - in a Les Dawson, Little Britain, Two Ronnies sort of way - by me.

Jenbot · 09/12/2009 22:04

I suspect they are maybe phasing out Alex and Cerrie.

On the website most of the songs they used to sing have been redone with Chris and Pui.

puffling · 09/12/2009 22:08

Oh Jenbot are you in the know. I hope you're right. Sadly, I quite enjoy snuggling up with dd for a bit of CBeebies, that is unless Alex and Cerrie are on. It's time they found something they're more suited to.

LastTrainToNowhere · 09/12/2009 23:05

My nearly 3 year old doesn't get Gigglebiz either. BUT just today she stumbled on Mr. Bean replays on UKTV Gold, and to my surprise, she LOVED it. She was laughing uncontrollably at one point which really surprised me. So, I guess it isn't so much the age as the simplicity of the content. Gigglebiz is much too dialogue-based to work as a slapstick comedy for preschoolers.

Taramuddle · 09/12/2009 23:25

Yeah Alex & Cerrie are wank!

And I would do Sid (naughtymummyemicon)

whelk · 10/12/2009 10:37

Tara I would do Sid too! And yeah Cerrie with that silly simper voice and raised eyebrows does my head in!
