to wonder where the heck the little critters came from?

My head started itching so much last night it was red raw.

I got out the nitty gritty comb this evening and I was literally CRAWLING with head lice.

Ewwwwwwwww.

There were really big buggers, middle sized ones and babies, with plenty of egg cases. I've obviously had them for some time but no itching. Strange.

Yet no one in the house has them.... not DH, not the three DCs....

Where the feck did they come from? I've not spent time in really close proximity to other kids either......

have you been on public transport recently? perhaps one came aboard on a packed out bus or tube?
mabey someone stood too close at the shops whilst cueing for a checkout?
mabey your hairdresser did not sterilies the combs/brushes/sissors properly?

Nope.... not public transport.
Shops are possible.... as is the hairdresser, I'd have had them three weeks if that was the case.... that'd be about right actually.

What is the best way of checking for them?

I invested in a Nitty Gritty comb.... nearly a tenner but worth it.

Slather on tons of conditioner, section hair up and comb through all the sections thoroughly checking the comb after each section.

oh get yourself some pure teatree oil. add a few drops to your shampoo/conditioner will help deter the little nasties !

head lice dont like ds, he picks them up from school and passes them straight onto me, i only ever find adult ones in his hair,!
