Oh you poor thing, how horrible for you. I guess she's been a bit frantic running around organising the christening and now its aftermath and hasn't thought to contact you.

If I were in your position, I would probably make an announcement on fb about how shitty I was feeling due to having mastitis (provided I knew my friend could read it) and mentally give her a 'black mark'. Petty I know, but I can sense you perhaps frustrated and undervalued right now.

Lizzylou · 01/12/2009 09:53

Ouch, poor you
I think she has probaly forgotten what it is like and was all busy with the Christening and forgot to check on you. Which is shit, I know.

Have you been to the doctors? Have you put savoy down your bra? Worked wonders on me, though you do end up with interesting patterns on them

Hope you feel better

Savoy cabbage
Put a leaf in each bra, honestly it is a Godsend.

I think you are just poorly and perhaps reacting differently to how you would if you were well, its not really your friends fault you are ill and although she should have checked the pump worked its your responsibility to ensure you could pump efficiently (sorry that sounds harsher than i actually mean).

Concentrate on getting yourself better and getting that job!!!

TheBolter · 01/12/2009 09:56

christiana, you're not bad, you just have enough self-respect to not want to be treated like a doormat, and good for you! I'd feel just the same.

TheBolter · 01/12/2009 09:57

nickschick, well she went in good faith that there would be a working pump for her. Her friend should have advised her otherwise.

I'd be pretty fed up too Christiana. I guess not everyone who gets engorged gets mastitis, but it would still frustrate me.

nickschick · 01/12/2009 10:31

Christiana what I put (rather badly) was that i would have taken or used my own breast pump knowing the potential discomfort....thats just my opinion and i do agree your friend was thoughtless.

YANBU - unless she didn't realise that the pump was not working before you tried it.

Get well soon.
