To be irrationally irritated by itsy bitsy cutesy Christmas cards.

Am just sorting through the Christmas decorations and have found the Christmas cards from last year. I kept them with the intention of getting the kids to do some wholesome craft type sticking and glueing resulting in some recession friendly home made decorations The reality is that I'll be chucking them in the recyling but before I do, can anyone else understand my irritation at the teeny weeny, itty bitty tiny cards ? The ones that are so small that you can just about write your name in them ?

I can understand kids sending them, but last years lot include itty bitty teeny cutesy cards from grown ups.

They just seem so 'ick - sickly' What's the point of a card if you can't write a proper Christmas greeting inside ? It's a bit like some simpering girl whimpering about how itty bitty and cute she is.

Bah humbug!

Yup, very unreasonable. You chop off the wibbly signature and bingo, you have a free gift tag. What's not to like?

They are cheap though - I've been known to use them for my team at work.

And they use less paper (trying to justify ickiness in self defence).

YABU

Smaller cards are easier to display and good for the Planet, etc.
I know what you mean about the simpering girl thing, but to me small cards are different from the women bleating, "oh tiny little me I find it so hard to find a watch strap to fit my tiny delicate little wrist". I read them as saying, "I am happy to take up less space and say Happy Christmas sincerely but quietly."

YANBU.

But then I don't really 'get' Christmas cards at all. Just don't see the point really...
