To be fed up with 'Fair weather' friends when were always the 'friend for all seasons' ??

I'm so fed up with friendships being one-sided.. DH & I will do anything for our friends, when they need us we go out of our way to help them, wether its helping them move house, giving lifts in emergencies or just being there as shoulders to cry on.

Yet, when we could do with some help, we can't see them for dust.. its like we don't exist and i'm so fed up with it.

It makes me want to just tell people to feck off next time they ask for help.

YANBU! I have a few friends like that. They will call me up and moan to me when they have a problem, I'll do what I can make sure they are OK, etc.., then when it comes to me having a problem they aren't interested. Really winds me up!

Have you told them you need help? Some people are happy to help when asked but don't actually see that someone is in need.

YANBU time to say bye bye to them! I have to my fairweather friends, we dont have many now, but the ones we have are true friends that would do anything for you and us to them of course. Some friendships run their couse.

fairweather friends are a hobbyhorse of mine, as I have had my fair share of bad luck in life...the only good thing to come out of it, is that I have very few friends, and they truly are wonderful. Because all the fairweather ones fucked off.

YANBU... I stopped myself from posting a really good whine on here about fairweather friends only yesterday. I'm stupid enough to keep being sucked in by them but I think there comes a point when you can't give any more. Hope your friends come round to their senses.
