AIBU to not understand thongs?

I hate them! I don't get how having a strip of material shoved up your arse is comfortable or attractive. They seem to make even the lingerie models look bad, which is quite an achievement, and they're so blimmin' obvious! I don't get why men find them sexy!

What's wrong with a nice lacy pair of French knickers?

Yuck to thongs. I would imagine there would be skid marks aplenty as a result of the arse-swallowing situation...

muggglewump · 29/11/2009 15:15

Ewwww.
You need to wipe your arse properly!

frakkinaround · 29/11/2009 15:21

Okay McSnail you just put me off the idea again.

But do people really not wipe properly, meaning they'd get skids if they wore a thing?

Never mind underwear, I think they need to sort out their undercarriage.

Dittany, I wasn't talking about the bacteria, but the leftover poo not wiped away.
That's minging no?

What's wrong with a VPL?
What's right with one?

It looks awful.
The whole point is surely to have smooth lines, and no underwear showing.
Whether you achieve that with big pants or a teeny thong, I don't care, but VPL looks bad.

DanDruff · 29/11/2009 17:29

thongs are very unhygienic (sp?) it is true the germs are carried back and to. One of the biggest causes of thrush and other vag problems.

CoteDAzur · 29/11/2009 18:14

You lot are missing the point of thongs: They don't show up under thin trousers skirts, so absolutely indispensable in the summer. In winter, not so necessary under jeans or thick clothes.

Mine are comfortable. I don't notice them at all & agree with whoever said if you think they are "up your arse", you must be wearing a few sizes too small.

VengefulKitty · 29/11/2009 18:23

75% of my knicker drawer is thongs. I agree that if they are going up your crack you are wearing a size too small.

I would love to wear french knickers, but find that they turn into some hideous creature trying to crawl up my backside more than a thong!

And never, ever had the clingy shit issue!

But I do love a big fat pair of arse cheek huggers when I can

BadPoet · 30/11/2009 18:59

Can't stand thongs and hate that 'whale tail' look too. On holiday this year the gods dictated that we should get stuck driving behind a girl in cropped jeans and a very obvious thong CYCLING up a steep, windy narrow road. She clearly had no clue where the day was going when she got dressed that morning. I winced the whole way. I'm wincing at the memory.

People always say that you are wearing them too small if you find them uncomfy. I suggest that there are perhaps two kinds of people, those who find thongs comfy, and those who just don't (whatever size they are!)
