Article

When oh when are the Daily Mail going to try to use their own initiative to come up with articles themselves, rather than depending on Mumsnet? - if they're not using MN threads to base stories on, then their slating MN off! [frustrated emoticon]

I'm all for free speech, but please use a bit of originality occasionally!

Sorry, rant over

Daily Mail sucks fetid donkey. If they had their way we'd all be chained to the sink with four sprogs each, looking out the window into the world they had emptied of single mothers, gays, the disabled and blacks.

The more DM hates MN the more I love MN!

harimosmummy · 27/11/2009 14:00

I didn't get to the end of the article... I got to the bit that said it's impossible to find MN useful.

I disagree.

You guys have been there for me at 3am when I was worried about the DC, have laughed with me, fought with me (sometimes quite badly! ), told me I needed a kick up the bum...

All in all, I'd say you guys have been a pretty good friend.

I could'nt give a toss what DM has to say on the matter (isn't the world going to end every Tuesday???? according to them). yes, it can be a viper's nest at times (well, AIBU? can be..)

But, err... so is life!!! Very few of us live in the sanitised world of the DM!!!

NotFromConcentrate · 27/11/2009 14:02

Oh well, it's not every day someone calls you (as in the royal 'you'!) a middle-class overachieving obsessive, is it?
Imagine not having the time to indulge in such petty schoolyard discussion such as that on Mumsnet, but having plenty of free time to spend writing an entire article berating a mere website!

AgentZigzag · 27/11/2009 14:11

The lady doth protest too much lol I bet she's a closet MNetter

Confuzzeled · 27/11/2009 14:11

What a wanker

Confuzzeled · 27/11/2009 14:12

I wish I was middle class and over achieving.

addictedtochristmas · 27/11/2009 14:13

what a load of rubbish, mn has always been a fountain of knowledge for me and a source of much hilarity when i need chearing up

SprocketAndTubbs · 27/11/2009 14:20

I am so tempted to leave a snotter of a comment after the article, but wouldn't want them to think that I was that wound up!!

Oh and lets not forget that inserting smileys is pathetic too.... !!

The DM is right, in fact, we shouldn't even be online. Surely time could be better spent doing important things, like scrubbing floors, preparing dinner, and handwashing DH's monogrammed silk PJs.Simultaneously, of course.

mayorquimby · 27/11/2009 14:22

well the website can't do both i.e. look to grow/gain publicity and avoid criticisms.

ilovepiccolina · 27/11/2009 14:30

What a horrible article! It's totally skewed. I didn't recognise the MN I know (and love). I've never seen the acronym PMTSBWIT or whatever it was, and have never bought Boden. I do hope it doesn't put off anyone who would like to ask MNers for help.

SerenityNowAKABleh · 27/11/2009 14:36

I was going to say that the DM should be more pro-MN, as allegedly we're all middle-class and Boden wearing, but then I realised, that MNers are allegedly degree educated as well.
That is where it all went wrong. Should not be educating women. It only gives them "ideas", way beyond what their pretty little heads can handle. [shakes head sadly]

BlueBumedFly · 27/11/2009 14:44

Pathetic women, is that all she has to research all day? God forbid there is news out there that really needs reporting on without stooping down from her position of self imposed grandeur to slag off a group of perfectly happy bloggers?

What makes people slag off things that you actually have to make an effort to join?

Has some evil cruel joker fiddled with her laptop and made Mumsnet her home page?

Does she have to log on each day or loose her job?

Did someone leave her money in a will only available to her if she does an hour a day on MN?

No? OK, guess what? DON'T LOG ON! Simples!

roulade · 27/11/2009 14:45

Well not only i have gone up in the world ( always thought i was working class ) i also seem to have gained a degree without trying, fab! Gotta love DM

MadreInglese · 27/11/2009 14:47

Yay they published my insults comments

junkcollector · 27/11/2009 14:50

Yeah. If the DM started loving MN I'd be off quick as you can say 'fetid donkey fart'.

themothershipcalling · 27/11/2009 15:11

Totally agree with Bluebum - great name - it's like the people who moan about certain TV programmes.... DON't BLOODY WATCH THEM THEN!

porcamiseria · 27/11/2009 15:21

porcamiseria · 27/11/2009 15:24

woold like to have seen the Gina debacle though!!!!

excuse my foul mouth there but her tone annoyed me

SeeYouAtDartsDarling · 27/11/2009 15:30

I can't believe they posted my very tongue in cheek reply. (Araminta from Tunbridge Wells, click on oldest posts and it's the 3rd one.)

I tried to pretend that I was a classic Daily Mail reader and just let the sarcasm flow.

Idiots.

PurpleLostPrincess · 27/11/2009 16:58

Oh my goodness me! This really gets my blood boiling, how could she!!! I don't have a degree for starters...

MN has been there for me following a mc, then through the following pregnancy, have made some lovely friends through my postnatal thread (have even met up and are still friends 2 years down the line); was there for me when DD2 had to go through all sorts of operations and has been a source of reassurance and knowledge for me now I'm recovering from a hysterectomy. Not to mention all the times it has made me laugh and cry and I recommend it to everybody I know.

Disgusting IMO grrrrrrrrrrrr.......

pippa251 · 27/11/2009 17:16

I am in my twenties
I don't even know about bowden
I am northern and am not up myself

And I have found mumsnet a LIFE LINE

I love the AIBU thread as its the only place i get honest answers as having a new baby my friends and family are too scared they'll offend me.

I have also learnt more about politics on here than in my Alevels

The Daily mail needs to get a grip- I'm very dissapointed that aa woman would come on here to judge and potentiaally put others off coming here when it has helped so many women

Ninks · 27/11/2009 17:20

YABU to not have, "AIBU to think that Sarah Chalmers is a cunt" as a title. However will she find this thread now?

Ninks · 27/11/2009 17:22

Oops, as porcamiseria has already more or less said
