to think that if someone wants a COPY of your qualifications they should be able to accept an email copy.

This is VERY boring but some office need my qualification certificate to update some details. They want me to send a COPY (not the original) by post, when I asked if I could just scan it in and send it by email they said No. WHAT ON EARTH COULD BE THE REASON BEHIND THIS? They have a printer so I know they could print it out. It makes no sense. It means I have to get off my lazy, biscuit-eating butt and go down to the post office in these bloody awful weather conditions.

they're cutting back so want you to use your paper instead of theirs?

well a scanned emailed copy could in theory more easily mask some "amendments" to the original docs than would be the case with a photocopy, where any devious overlaying of changes would be more apparent.

Not saying at all of course that you would do that, but I imagine that's why.

LibrasBiscuitsOfFortune · 23/11/2009 17:21

really? bearing in mind my photocopy is from a home printer and not in colour.

It is a reason but it's not a good reason

They don't know how to work their computer that well.

Seriously.

It's easier to amend a digital copy than a paper one.

Of course, it's easy to amend a digital copy, print it out and then send that in.

StealthPolarBear · 23/11/2009 17:38

exactly, and that's what I assume Libra is doing (well not the amending bit, I hope!)

LibrasBiscuitsOfFortune · 23/11/2009 17:51

Well I don't see the point in going on courses in future if I can just mock up a copy of the certificate and print it out and then send it in. More biscuit time, hurrah.
