dd had a brownie day at the weekend, i had carefully placed her trousers in an easy to find place, i knew they needed washing but also knew she had the brownie day.

of course searched high and low when the day came, and no - my mum hadnt actually commited the mortal sin of washing them

Tell us more....

Have you asked her not to do this?

Why weren't her clothes in her wardrobe? That's easy to find.

Is your house a state?

SlartyBartFast · 23/11/2009 10:25

ooh, is my house a state?
we-ell, glosses over that question. its all mumsnet fault

they were on the wardrobe door, admits it would have been easier to put away, but they were sort of waiting for the weekend.

well while i can see its irritating, if she comes looks after your kids and tries to help you out by washing i dont think its a terrible thing

SlartyBartFast · 23/11/2009 10:33

no, it isnt a terrible thing, i need some perspective.
although today my house is a state, on friday saturday it certainly wasnt, i had been busy tidying

I am an untidy person so I am not judging.....in fact I am a nightmare.

Unless there are some underlying issues between you and your mum, she wasn't to know, she was trying to help.

mumoverseas · 23/11/2009 11:17

you are very lucky to have a mum to help you with things like that.
My mum died a few months ago. I'd give anything to have her back, flaws and all.

Thank you SBF. Sorry for post, just a bit emotional about it all at the moment. I was on a bus a few days ago and all the women on it where whinging about their mums and having to 'put up with them' for Christmas. I'm dreading Christmas, my first as an orphan and I'm so sad my little baby boy will never know his nannie as she died just before she was due to meet him

Sorry your mum wound you up, I guess they all do at times but just treasure them whilst you have them x
