FOR. FUCKS. SAKE.

YOU HAVE GOT A COLD. YOU ARE NOT DYING. I DO NOT NEED TO BE ADVISED OF EVERY STAGE OF THE COLD, AS IT HAPPENS.

  1. I think I'm getting a cold
  2. Oh sneezes here it comes
  3. sniffs coughs Told you, told you, I'm definitely getting a cold
  4. sighs sighs sighs-a-fucking-gain Oh I do feel rough, it's getting to my chest, I can feel it

Again. FOR. FUCKS. SAKE. You haven't helped me one jot this weekend, because you are too poorly. You FUCKING BABY. SUCK IT UP like everyone else has to and do your fucking job like everyone else has to.

Twat.

He's only a bloke, you've got to feel sorry for the poor bastard

UpYourViva · 22/11/2009 15:51

My dp is the same
They have zero pain threshold!! thats why men dont give birth

DoingTheBestICan · 22/11/2009 15:52

Sounds like my past week with my dh,he has jury service tomorrow & if i hear one more time how he hopes his flu doesnt go onto his chest because he has to sit in a court room next week i will scream!!

Man-flu??? Its a bloody cold

SerendipitousHarlot · 22/11/2009 15:54

AgentZigzag I'd be having a lot better day if he would piss off to bed and leave the rest of us alone....

They are ALL the same UpYourViva It wouldn't be so bad if he just sat there like a big slug, it's the constant litany of complaint and self pity that makes me so

" I'd be having a lot better day if he would piss off to bed and leave the rest of us alone....
"

Well exactly. I can be sympathetic to sick people but only if they don't make a song and dance of it and keep themselves tucked up in bed.

AgentZigzag · 22/11/2009 16:23

Oh no Serendipitous, that would never do, if he went to bed he wouldn't be able to let you know the enormity of his pain and suffering Just look on it as having another child to deal with lol

groundhogs · 22/11/2009 18:36

TELL him to piss off to bed, he needs the early night and you need him out of your hair.

GAH, they are sooo pathetic when they catch a sniffle...

YOU have MY sincerest sympathy!

SerendipitousHarlot · 22/11/2009 18:50

I have tried groundhogs

Then he'll say something like 'I will in a bit' and then proceed to have control of the remote all night, in order to snooze on the settee.

Gah.

busybutterfly · 22/11/2009 19:23

You're about as sympathetic as me - DH now knows if he's ill to bugger off retire to bed.

verytellytubby · 22/11/2009 19:25

Man-flu! Tell him to fuck off back to bed so you can watch X-Factor and drink wine in peace.

DaftApeth · 22/11/2009 19:35

My dh sits in bed when he has manflu is ill but expects waitress service for all his meals - his illness never seems to affect his appetite.

He has even been known to text/phone me from upstairs to ask for a lemsip/cup of tea.

SerendipitousHarlot · 22/11/2009 19:53

Hahahahahhaa!! And now we have had a phone call from my Dsis to say that her boy has chicken pox - they came to visit on Friday. And dh has never had it!

cue dh googling symptoms of shingles and imagines all week that he is getting it

DoingTheBestICan · 22/11/2009 19:56

Oh i would be very tempted to draw some red spots on him tonight (evil emoticon)

ABetaDad · 22/11/2009 20:23

Come on now be honest. Would any of you have any more sympathy if DH/DP was really ill?

I do believe women to be the cruelest sex and have the irrefutable evidence.

When I came out of hospital a few years back after a serious operation and told to rest for 6 weeks DW had no sympathy.

One day after about a fortnight when I had really been doing my best she shouted at me 'are you not better yet!'.

The cruelty of it still stings to this day.

SerendipitousHarlot · 22/11/2009 20:34

ABetaDad

Sorry

If he is really ill, I am Florence Bleedin Nightingale, I assure you. For about 5 minutes, after which I shout 'are you not better yet?'

ABetaDad · 22/11/2009 20:42

That old joke has more than a ring of truth in it you know.

Q: Why do men die earlier than women?

A: Because they want to!

AgentZigzag · 22/11/2009 20:49

The cruelest sex?? lol betadad, the OPs DH hasn't just had a serious operation, he's got a cold!

I don't detect even the slightest tongue in cheek in your post, you sound like you feel hard done by your DW, perhaps you need to talk to her about it?

SerendipitousHarlot · 22/11/2009 20:50

LOL ABetaDad

It wouldn't work, Madam. He would enjoy it, sort of a licence to be ill.

ABetaDad · 22/11/2009 21:12

Its all women - not just DW. Its a pathology I tell you. Mother was the same.

We used to have a nurse at boarding school who made me lay for 3 days in a bed looking at the ceiling without being allowed to read, watch TV or have a wash after a rugby game injury. I asked that woman for a flannel and a bowl of water and a book to read but ... nothing.

I felt like that bloke in The English Patient but without the benefit of a copy of Heroditus to read and Juliette Binoche to keep me company. I was only 16, not yet a man really but.....brave and stoic to the last.

SerendipitousHarlot · 22/11/2009 21:16

Hahahahaha ABetaDad you are spoiling us tonight

OP posts:
DoingTheBestICan · 22/11/2009 21:20

Ha Ha ABetaDad, the thing is if i gave dh any sympathy he would be instantly suspicious.
