Once again they have totally messed my order up, will have to drag kids into town now to collect all the BOGOF items that they insist I only clicked one of , buggering up not only the budget but the kids afternoon.

Squashed grapes, manky veg and meat within two days of sell by date.

Am really at them, our local store staff are lovely but the online branch needs to work on it's customer service big time.

Not sure I can afford Ocado all the time.

what a PITA yanbu

complain straight to head office- tell them exactly what you told us- they should sort you out big time!

PuppyMonkey · 21/11/2009 11:56

Yep, people on here keep saying Ocado too expensive, yadda yadda but every other online shop I've tried have either missed stuff, done the offers wrong, substituted something ridiculous, stupid use by dates or etc etc. So you need to go into shop and top up - defeating the whole point of shopping online imho.

I have complained to customer services TeamEd, it would have been hilarious if I wasn't so annoyed, young girl from Northern Ireland with harridan in the background going "Tell 'er she should have clicked twice", "Tell 'er thats not our policy", "Move the conversation along now".

PuppyMonkey, are Ocado usually okay then?
I am not using Sains' again thats for sure!

sockonmyhead · 21/11/2009 13:05

but did you click twice? did you check your confirmation email or even what was in your trolley?

i've always found them to be really good and their customer service people really helpful and will refund short use by or damaged goods if it isn't on the 'short date' list when they deliver.

it's the staff at the local branch who pick the stuff in the first place so perhaps you can't blame the people on the phone completly...and I think the irish accents make them even better!

Sagacious · 21/11/2009 13:21

I really would check your conformation email to check you did click for 2x otherwise you're being a bit of an arse TBH.

(lovely sainsbos customer service man rearranged my delivery when I missed my slot)

And I've always found them really helpfull with broken eggs etc.

Tesco's on the other hand ...

Firawla · 21/11/2009 13:30

I find sainsburys very good, must depend on the area I think
but Ocado price is not much dif than sainsburys especially now u can get the own brand waitrose essentials and they have alot of tesco price match, so if you are not happy with sainsburys service i think it'll be worth it for you to swap

fernie3 · 21/11/2009 13:35

We have used Sainsburys, Asds and tesco for years and neevr had any problem. If you are not happy with the order you can call up and complain chances are they will refund you some of what you dont like. If you didnt click two then they dont deliver two even if it is buy one get one free.

Prinnie · 21/11/2009 13:41

That's such a shame, I've had impeccable service from Sainsbury's for over 2 years now.

I would definitely email a complain to head office - I did a couple of years ago - in fact it wasn't even a complaint I was just telling them that one of their products just wasn't very nice and they sent me a £5 voucher!

DamascusRose · 21/11/2009 14:01

I started with Tescos when they started (C.Section got me hooked) they were appalling! I moved to Sainsbury's for over ten years with the odd emergency use of Ocado. Recently had 4 out of 5 very bad experiences with Sainsbury's. Have now moved totally to Ocado - despite husband's redundancy. Their Essentials and Everyday ranges are great - I don't buy junk - kids can have toast & jam or fruit if they need a snack - and try to buy stuff that is frozen or freezes so cutting down on waste. My costs are about the same, but no more headaches when stuff doesn't appear and crap quality stuff rotting in the fridge.

Eve4Walle · 21/11/2009 14:09

I only ever use Ocado now, out of bitter experience really. Asda, Sainsbos and Tesco all did something or another that was really annoying and I switched a while ago.

I've never had a problem with Ocado and if you buy their 'Essentials' range, it doesn't work out any more expensive than Sainsburys.

serinBrightside · 21/11/2009 14:27

Well, think I will move to Ocado, I have put the meat with sell by date of tomorrow in next doors freezer.

Make smoothie from squashed bananas, (delivered in same bag as two, 2.5kg bags of potatoes!) and give the brown grapes to the blackbirds.

I have checked confirmation email and the only Bogof that I clicked one of instead of two was a ginger cake, all the other stuff I did correctly.

Our delivery doesn't come from local shop Sock, it comes from Ellesmere Port, which is over 20 miles from where I live

Am pleased that you all reckon I can afford Waitrose now.

missorinoco · 21/11/2009 14:30

Forward them the confirmation email in an email of complaint, describing the telephone conversation and the inconvenience caused.

You are entitled to the BOGOF items and it would seem a shame not to get them.

Heated · 21/11/2009 14:34

Tesco are poor - have received supposedly in date meat that is clearly rancid and have then wondered how 'fresh' the other meat we've eaten from there is - haven't shopped online there for about 2 years but they did have very good cust services.

Sainsburys on the ground staff are lovely which is why I keep using them, but their customer service ppl are rude. I phoned up regarding receiving someone elses shopping and they couldn't give a damn.

I keep hearing lovely things about Ocado.

DoingTheBestICan · 21/11/2009 14:35

Dont mention Ellesmere Port to me, i went this morning to do a mega shop & i normally do it online but today i fancied getting out of the house, well i bought a 1 litre carton of Cravendale milk & as i was putting it in the trolley i thought to myself this carton looks a bit bulgy.

Looked at the date & it was BBE 7th of Nov!

I was livid, complained instore & was basically fobbed off, complained to customer services by phone & to be fair the lady was horrified & promised to look into it.

My online shopping normally comes from Rhyl & its always been spot on.

serinBrightside · 21/11/2009 15:01

Man from S's customer service just rang to apologise. Did not offer to help or refunds, just apologised. Said they are looking at changing some policies, said I was looking at changing to Ocado.
