Tickets are for me and DH.
I was supposed to be buying DS a voucher to buy some new clothes but I had an email from ticketmaster about the dates for next year.
I have bought 2 tickets for £100 instead of a voucher for DS.
DS is 20, he has been out of work since the summer. He sits in his room every day and night on the laptop and is beginning to really annoy me with his laziness and his lack of motivation.
I will get him his vouchers, but next month. I am giving him vouchers as I don't want him wasting money on CDs and computer games. He needs new clothers. He looks like a tramp.
I do still feel a twinge of guilt though. I am no used to spending money on myself. I am excited though, at the prospect of seeing Muse.
So, AIBU?

At 20 he is capable of sorting himself out, now if he was 5 and he looked like a tramp and you bought yourself the tickeys....

Might motivate him to see you going out and spending YOUR money on something fun.

I do charge him board and lodgings.
He gives me £30 a fortnight, when he gets his dole money.
he has had to sell his car, because he couldn't afford to tax, MOT and insure it for another year. He had to use the money from the car to pay his dad for repairs to car and board money for several weeks that he owed me.
I am not prepared to fund his lifestyle. I have given him lots of jobs to do around the house, like hoovering and the dishwasher and scrubbing the grout in the bathroom. I intend to work him hard until he gets a job for a rest!
I will have a good time at the concert, I am sure, but it's not till next september. So I have a long wait.

Soon as I left school and got a job at 16 upto when i left home at 21. I paid £30 per week board and had to buy all my own stuff clothes, toiletries etc. Also had to do my own washing and ironing. Had to help with the other housework too, also had to cook dinner a few nights a week. I thank my mother now as i'm so clean and tidy in my own home

I think TBH your DS has it pretty good at home so no motivation to go and do anything.
