Here I am not saying whether downloading music is good or bad. However, I think completely cutting off your internet, especially without trial, is extreme?

Not sure. I love the idea that cutting off your internet will leave you "unable to engage in everyday activities like shopping and socialising" though! I don't imaging there are that many people who would be completely unable to do those things without the internet, however convenient they find it.

Actually, it's even better than that

Firawla · 20/11/2009 17:27

well i think it would make people think twice about doing it, so that's a result for them.
i dont really have a problem with piracy but if your gna get sent to jail or even if your gonna risk having your internet cut off, then i wouldnt risk it

Problem is, firstly, they are ignoring innocent till proven guilty.
Secondly (especially bearing in mind the first point) it doesn't take into account other people using your connection. Which can happen, maybe you have a child/teen who uses your connection, it will be you held accountable. Maybe you've left your wireless unsecured, again, guess who thay'll blame.
