Although, I think Number 5 is a very mature and well-grounded individual and someone you can rely on in a crisis.

?
Numberjacks is my best guess.

TootaLaFruit · 20/11/2009 09:21

Number 3 is annoying, but it's Number 6's voice that reeeeeally grates on me.

ooojimaflip · 20/11/2009 09:23

I can't imagine what Number i must be like.

MaggiePie · 20/11/2009 09:23

A quirky man I used to work with would say, Maggie, that's 6 letters with your sur name 13, so that's 19 but if you add the 1 and the 9 that's ten, so add the 1 and the zero, you get 1. That's a prime number. ooooooh and he'd edge his chair away a bit.

MissWooWoo · 20/11/2009 09:24

I've got a bit of a crush on number 4

InThisSequinBraYesYouOlaJordan · 20/11/2009 09:32

Is this about Sid and the other one's number song? I heart those, I have downloaded them from Youtube

needs to get out more emoticon

BellaBear · 20/11/2009 09:34

1 isn't a prime number!!

CaresMildly · 20/11/2009 09:38

ITSBYYOJ - oh no, it is Numberjacks. Sid and Andy's songs are just fabulous. I have only heard 1 and 4 so far but may look them up (and borrow your emoticon!!)

Number 3 is so whiny and me me me but gets loads of attention. Numbers 7, 8 and 9 never get a look in. Where do they live? Is there penthouse where they have decamped to get away from the lesser numbers?

Numberjacks fascinates me, it's so rubbish (I cite Spooky Spoon) yet the songs seem really well-crafted and professional.

Rindercella · 20/11/2009 09:40

I can't watch Numberjacks - I think it's the voices. I just hate it. Even DD asks me to turn it over/off when it comes on.

Madascheese · 20/11/2009 09:45

I'd wondered this as my DS (aged 3 1/2) is utterly obsessed with the Numberjacks - having spent so much time with them DP and I have reached the following conclusions:

The main characteristics of each numberjack reflect the main characteristics of the age (Ie 3 is like a 3 year old - 5 a bit more thoughtful about things etc)

Also the reason you don't see the 7,8,9 so much is that they can only be with 1,2,3 before they make numbers above 10 if you add them together.

I utterly and totally need to get a life

None of that bloody explains why they didn't make a beanies for 1,7,8,9 though

'gets coat' emoticon

MissWooWoo · 20/11/2009 09:47

it is the thing of the moment with my dd - doesn't like the numbertaker though. He is a bit creepy.

Firawla · 20/11/2009 09:48

I like 3, its a cute one. 4 and 6 have slightly annoying accents/voices

madascheese i think they have beanies made for all of them?

Marioandluigi · 20/11/2009 09:51

Number 4 has a funny voice which annoys me.

The show is aimed at children aged 3-6, so I assume thats why they are the numbers feared most.

I do find some of the problems a little hard for childen of that age though.

Madascheese · 20/11/2009 09:53

Firawla I think you kindly posted suggestions on my thread searching for them. I honestly can't find the others and they don't seem to be listed anywhere, if you've seen them please let me know where and I'll toddle off and get them.

DP has been drafted in to create the meanies as well as I have fudgey fingers for anything crafty and so far has made the problem blob and Spooky spoon for DS which he carries round relentlessly whilst looking for problems to solve (DS, that is, DP is a tiny bit more subtle about his passions..)

paisleyleaf · 20/11/2009 09:55

They are a precocious bunch of numbers.
I can't imagine they'd get on with the neurons either.

CaresMildly · 20/11/2009 09:56

Madascheese: hats off emoticon to you. I had no idea all this sub-text was going on.

I may stick with Numberjacks as seems as good a way as any of introducing DD to the intricacies of Cribbabe in later life!

OP posts:
cloudspotter · 20/11/2009 09:56

Ha ha ha - for a worrying minute I thought you meant your dc3!

MissWooWoo · 20/11/2009 09:57

dd spotted a disgarded earplug on the bedroom floor last night and has adopted this as number 1. Odd! (no pun intended)

CaresMildly · 20/11/2009 09:57

Sigh: that would be Cribbage not Cribbabe

OP posts:
TheFoosa · 20/11/2009 09:58

I have never seen Numberjacks, dd is terrified of it

MissWooWoo · 20/11/2009 10:01

discarded even

Madascheese · 20/11/2009 10:02

Cloudspotter - gave me a coffee/keyboard interface there

Cares: I'm not sure my familiarity with the backstory of the Numberjacks is something I should be shouting form the rooftops, in fact may need to name change now....

DS hates the neurons Paisleyleaf so you may well be right there - he runs screaming from the room at the mere mention of them.

And Marioandluigi totally with on on the voice of number 4, he is definately going to be first on the bonfire when DS finally grows out of this!

PS anyone want to read my thesis on the motivations of the engines in chuggington?

CaresMildly · 20/11/2009 11:00

Yes please Madascheese. I'm particularly intersted to know why Brewster is so depressed and whether Coco's name is a clue for why she's so hyper all the time.

OP posts:
meltedchocolate · 20/11/2009 11:05

LOL i was gonna shout that to Bella he should have stuck to the fact that 19 is a prime number.... duh......

kittybrown · 20/11/2009 11:06

My children are far to old for numberjacks but are strangely drawn to it. DD is even going dressed as the Nunbertaker for "dress as your favouritr T.V. character" day. she looks truely terrifying and has been practicing the song all week.
