I ordered a whiteipig on 2nd nov from play.com for 39.99 and expected to get it within a few days as was shown in stock - still no sign and they have not took my money so i rang them and they said i wouldnt be getting it as no longer available. I pointed out it is still on there website as available and she said yes it is but not at that price - you need to cancel your order and reorder at £96 then you will get it - wtf??? I am fuming. I have not cancelled my order and told them i am leaving it as pending as i want it at £39.99. Surely i have some dodgey rights or is this the norm?

Do you have an email with the terms on? I would expect that because they haven't taken your money then there is no contract in place?

Not sure though, hopefully someone in the know will be along soon.

wtf is an ipig

Don't know the answer but try asking your local trading standards - I would have thought an accepted order was their agreement to fulfil a contract? Have you looked at the t and c's on their website to see if they have a get out clause?

IMoveTheStarsForNoOne · 19/11/2009 11:16

there are some cheaper ones here if that's any help

roulade · 19/11/2009 11:19

YABU to consider spending £40 on that!

nappyzonecantrunfortoffee · 19/11/2009 11:23

i will hunt on site for terms . Yes roulade but i would be even more unreasonable to spend £90! I want a white one for 39.99 no more!! The sound quality onthem is supposed to be superb in comparison with other docking systems.

Judging by this in the erms then no chance ......

No contract for the sale of any product will subsist between you and Play.com until Play.com dispatches the product(s) ordered. We will confirm that the product(s) have been dispatched by a confirmation email. This confirmation e-mail amounts to an acceptance by Play.com of your offer to buy goods from Play.com or a third party supplier that is engaged on your behalf by Play.com (whether or not you receive that e-mail).

Twats - how annoying - in my order history it says order taken yes taken but were not going to honour it because were greedy feckers

nappyzone - IME companies do this because demand has gone up, so grey market pricing goes up. They shouldn't have had it on as in stock at that price though if their cost price had gone up.

Can't find it anywhere else online for £39.99 though, even ebay is over £50.

Play.com have really gone down the pan lately.Last month i ordered a blu ray player which they said was dispatched but never arrived, the courier company never left a card so i looked them up on the net, called them and the parcel was at the depot, i offered to go and collect it but as it had been scanned to be sent back to Play they said no. Called up Play they said no too so i cancelled the order and got it from amazon instead!!! ( this was all because Play had to deliver to home address and we are both out at work all day but it seems for electrical items they will not deliver to an alternative address - Amazon don't mind though so will get my custom from now on)
