in thinking that this is a sad, horrible mess

I don't know if anyone has seen this case on the news about the Dr who tried to poison his mistress to induce an abortion? Am a technophobe so can't do a link but I have read about is and am horrified on several counts . Firstly what this man did was pure evil and he gets a paltry 6 years in prison!!! But secondly I can't help feeling that none of the adults in this sorry mess come out of it very well. He was a self confessed serial adulterer despite having 2 young children who obviously was no used to not having what he wanted denied to him so when he found out his mistress was pregnant he committed this hideous crime. His wife new about his infidelities but stood by him and still does! And finally his mistress of 3 weeks ( when she found out she was pregnant) new he was a married father and yet still had unprotected sex with him on several occasions. I find it particularly sad that 3 children are caught up in all of this. Maybe I'm just old fashioned in thinking that if you make vows you should stick by them and a married man is most definately off limits no matter how rich/powerful/goodlooking he is?
