To resent Simon Cowell for spoiling our family Saturday nights?

DH has refused to watch X factor any more after the JEdward voting fiasco last week so our traditional family Autumn Saturday nights with the DDs and a takeaway in front of a roaring fire and the TV, laughing at crap singers and shouting at the judges comments have been spoiled.

The DDs want to carry on watching it but DH said he will watch a film in the other room in protest.

Bloody Simon Cowell!

Go on call me pathetic. I don't care

Aww that is not nice - it's our Sat night treat as well. Home made pizza and mindless tv! Tell your DH to stop being such a spoil sport. The programme has always been a joke so nothing is new.

Rather childish of DH, it is all pantomime, he must know that

ElizabethWakefield · 14/11/2009 15:57

To be fair, I think it is your DH spoiling your Saturday nights, rather than Simon Cowell!

OK. Let him.

But refuse to tell him what's going on in the "fun" room. Make sure you laugh loudly, hog the wine bottle and stoke up the fire after turning down the radiator in his sad little room.

He'll come round!

Watch Strictly Come Dancing instead - it is far less exploitative, and far more enjoyable!

DH is taking this waaaayy too seriously.

Watch Strictly, Bruce The Annoying isn't doing it tonight.

Play monopoply instead and eat a take-out meal - far more entertaining than a singing contest on tv
