why? they are rooms, they have tea.

notanumber · 12/11/2009 22:35

Ah, I love a team room.

All doilies and little pots of jam and fat elderly cats snoozing in the corner in front of the fire.....Lovely.

JANEITEisntErudite · 12/11/2009 22:36

What about 'coffe house' - any better? Or 'opium den' mayhap?

JANEITEisntErudite · 12/11/2009 22:37

'Steak house' or 'Pizza parlour' ? None of them make much sense, do they?!

scottishmummy · 12/11/2009 22:37

no no i love tea rooms.the cakes, the tea

MaryMotherOfCheeses · 12/11/2009 22:37

how can you hate tea rooms???

They have tea and coffee and cakes. What's not to like?

Nutter.

MaryMotherOfCheeses · 12/11/2009 22:39

Well, not entirely, I don't like tea, but they do sell cake, which is a huge plus. IMHO.

upahill · 12/11/2009 22:39

No problem here with tea rooms here. Not sure what the problem is? There's loads of villages near me and it's nice to round off the day in a tea room with a pot of tea and a big massive slice of cake. Fantastic. What's there not to like?

MillyR · 12/11/2009 22:41

I love tea rooms. My dream job is inspector for the National Guild of Tea Rooms.

YABU; it is not the most unreasonable thing I have heard. Someone recently told me they didn't like the Beatles. You are nearing that level of unreasonableness though.

upahill · 12/11/2009 22:41

Marymother.... Xpost there!! Same last sentence.

WilfSell · 12/11/2009 22:41

Praps SEA means this kind of tearoom?

notanumber · 12/11/2009 22:41

I bet Starbucks won't do you a lovely slab of battenburg.

God, tea rooms are ACE. What's wrong with you, for heavens sakes?

upahill · 12/11/2009 22:42

Do tell! What is the issue with tea rooms?

Lilymaid · 12/11/2009 22:43

Tea rooms, tea shop ... love them all.
My latest favourite!

JANEITEisntErudite · 12/11/2009 22:45

I like tea rooms much more than The Beatles - can't stand The Beatles.

MillyR · 12/11/2009 22:46

The tearoom in Ambleside is the best tea room I have been in so far.

I had my wedding reception in a tea room.

MillyR · 12/11/2009 22:48

I really feel personally offended over the Beatles thing; it must be my weak point.

southeastastra · 12/11/2009 22:54

oh i worked in a tea room for a while, have a weird perspective on it

OP posts:
MaryMotherOfCheeses · 12/11/2009 22:59

Is that it?

southeastastra · 12/11/2009 23:05
