We had a holiday booked for January which we have had to cancel (financial reasons ). I wrote before the 8 week deadline to cancel and had a payment reminder today so phoned them up and they said they haven't received my letter and as the 8 weeks have passed I'll have cancellation penalties to pay .

I've emailed them a copy of my letter but am waiting to hear back. Apparently I can't prove I sent it on the date I said (in other words I'm a liar!). B@stards... we're in enough financial sh1t without having to pay out more.

you will have a receipt from po then with date ?

Just heard back, thank goodness, they believe me .

Can you ring the co. ask to speak to someone senior and appeal to their better nature.
