I'm taking some Brownies to an old people's home to sing some carols and Christmas songs. dds and I have just been practising Winter Wonderland. for those of you not intimately acquainted with Winter Wonderland it's really quite a gorgeous 1930s song, with lovely instrumentals, about a young couple in love, gallivanting (innocently, of course) in the snow and then day dreaming about their future by the fire. and yep, I'm struggling to get through it...just thinking of my lovely dds and the other lovely Brownies singing and the lovely old people reminiscing...

I am hard as nails. I do not cry.

Except for that time I was heavily pregnant in the supermarket and the old bloke in front of me had cat food and a tin of soup in his basket, struggled to count out the coppers and looked so bloody forlorn dh had to hold me back from adopting him.

Can't listen to anyone singing 'away in a manger' without blubbing. Esp when the little ones sing about the 'little lord cheeseus'

the last thing to make me well up was a woman in australia on gmtv announcing that she was pregnant on one of those annual shows they do 'look at australia - isn't it funny how everything's upside down and it's hot when we're cold'. she was on screen for 30 seconds and i thought - oh, her poor parents finding out like that. and it was supposed to be a happy announcement!

Lonely old men in general.

Lovely old ladies at work who you ask a question and they answer something completely different. I worry they're lonely in their little private world.

DS (2), when I put him to bed on a night and he shouts 'Mummy, I love you!'

Oh yes, old dogs have me in tears too. Even worse when the old dog is being walked by an old person. I hate knowing that one of them will probably soon die and the other will be all alone. I start welling up in the street.

i saw an old man in woolworths a little while ago, buying a very small selection of pic and mix. Made me cry.

This is on the CD I have in the car for DS. I well up everytime and I'm not even quite sure why!

I cried yesterday... very cold morning... driving past field of sheep... and I was upset they might be cold! Felt very silly (I am pregnant - blaming the hormones)

all kinds of things.

i used to be quite unmoved by most things, these days it's hard to watch Waybuloo without going a little weak.

i also cry at xfactor sometimes. And not just when those twins are on.

Oh God since having DS I well up at anything. Birth scenes on tv. The pampers ad with the newborns from around the world. Children singing. Leona Lewis version of that Snow Patrol song. Daddy, my Daddy gets me right in the gut. My Granny. Elderly people on their own. Small children hurting themselves (even when it's blatantly not serious).

I work in social services, currently preparing someone's files for them to view. Have to keep taking breaks so as not to sniffle
