To think that duvet covers shouldn't shrink?

I've just struggled to put the winter duvets into their respective covers and they've definitely shrunk by at least 10cm in length. The pillow cases too. Bastard Ikea 100% cotton. Surely they should have built in a shrinkage allowance. I am now faced with either an hour and a half drive through central Zurich to the closest shop or put it down to experience and never buy any more from there. DD's is fine, hers is from Tesco and has some polyester in it. GRRRRRRRR

Saw the title and thought... bet they are from Ikea!

My Ikea duvet cover shrank too. The pillow cases are way too big and refuse to shrink though

Do you want to swap? I am absolutely furious, not because of the cost, rather because I don't have two more clean ones that match and are the same size as when I bought the feckers. All of the ones I use on me and dh's bed (we have two single duvets) are from Ikea, those that dd has are from a variety of places.
