Ok so i hate all the girly pink shite thats about just now - but i would really like to buy my some more lego for xmas, she has the basic set and we love playing with it, but it would be nice if there was like, a farm set or school set etc - its all fireengines and raiders of the lost fecking arc, or starwars I DD wants to make more girlified things. Please - oh, but not too much pink please as DD hates pink.

You can make more women minifigures if you go
here and click on minifigures in the first dropdown box on the left.

Lots of fun.

i know what you mean about the belville bruffin, i might just get the horse set to supplement what she already has, DD has been sick today and we have played with her basic set ALL DAY, we made dogs (im rather proud of mine!) and kennels for them. The carousel would absolutely be for me!

Has anyone a link to the winter toyshop - i cant find it

why not just get the big buckets of lego bricks and use your imagination!

people buy lots of the sets for ds1, but he actually gets far more from just using the bricks to build things
he'll make them once, then take it all apart and build something else.

lego should be non gender specific
i really hate all this needing "girl" or "boy" versions of things. oh and yes, that means that the girl stuff all needs to be pink right? pah! (that's aimed at lego manufactueres btw, notyou OP)

i think there are plenty of sets that your dd would like though:

what about the medieval village

any of these?

or the farm

YABVVVVVVVU

Lego is lego.
Fuck all the farm sets and the star wars sets and the build-a-sky-rocket set. Boys and girls can build stuff out of a big box of random bits acquired from car boot sales.

That is how it should be.

winter toy shop

Will probably get DD either that or Medieval Village for Christmas depending on how rich we are feeling.

ijustwanttoaskaquestion · 10/11/2009 13:04

i do agree with you actually adair, i had the hugest box of lego as a child, i could make sky scrapers with it, i had so much. I think my mum sold it in a bootfair!!!

i think my DD is too young for the medieval village or toy shop mind - i would be buying it for me and that would be wrong wrong wrong

i should hasten to add that she probably got it all from jumble sales!

We have 3 huge boxes of lego and techical lego from car boot sales, officially it's for the dds but actually it's DP who can't pass a box of lego without buying it.

My dds (9, 8, 5) particularly like the lego pirate ship and I'm sure they would like the lego town, any of the farm or pirate stuff. They don't have any Belville but the older two hate pink so wouldn't like it.

We used to buy boxes of lego windows and lego roof tiles for my nieces, I don't know if you can still get those.

My dds will make lego fire engines quite happily though. maybe yours will too if given it.
