I really really hate it. All it does is churns out karaoke singers - fair enough, they can sing, but they have no character at all.
I sat through 15 minutes of it tonight, and spent the whole time ranting to my husband about it (lucky man )
I think the thing that bothers me about it is that when you look at very long-term artists at the moment (along the lines of Madness, Pet Shop Boys, um, too late to think of any more, but you get my drift), their singing talents wouldn't get them through the first audition, but they have the personality and charisma, and whatever else, to make them popular for years and years.
I can't see Leona Lewis standing out in the crowd for more than a year or two.
So, basically, I think it's pants.
