I was browsing through some old threads earlier, and the general standard of debate has dropped. People here used to be able to follow a thread and give a pertinent response, backed up with careful research. Lately the response is likely to be completely unrelated to the original point, and passive-aggressive to boot.

Agree Swedes, agree Hully (!), agree Hoochie. My feelings changed after DM fiasco, not moldies. Wish I had the willpower to just fuck off .

I think Mumsnet has reached a crisis point and needs to split into two.

I agree, Swedes it has become all trolls and tragedy at the moment, not all of MN, but largely. There are still pockets of fun/enlightenment.

I don't think the standard of debate has dropped, there always were the "other" threads, I just ignored them and I still do

I have to admit to being more of a lurker than a poster, but for a long time now. MN has changed, but equally what I take from it has also changed. I feel more secure in my parenting style to not look for advice as much as I first did. I tend to stay away from the sadder posts, but the debates don't seem to be there anymore.

I've started a few threads in the last couple of weeks.

Some of them have had no response whatsoever.
