AIBU to mind about this present?

I spent some time thinking up a gift for a friend of mine as she has been having a bit of a hard time, and I wanted to make her feel better. In the end I bought her an ipod and loaded it up with albums and songs that I thought she would like.

I just found out that she has auctioned it off. (It's for a good cause, half of the proceeds go to charity and the other half goes to her, so it not entirely selfish)

I know that once you give a gift then it's out of your hands, but I don't know, I just feel a bit hurt by it.

It just seems a bit cold - y/n?

I would be furious!

Yes I would ask her you may be fretting over another ipod.

You could say you were thinking of getting one for yourself/as a xmas present and what did she think of it?

I would keep buying her itunes vouchers for future presents, then if she doesn't still have an ipod she will have to fess up

If its the same one then I would be really hurt so YANBU but is there a way to bring up the subject in coversation to find out if maybe she was given another one/it belonged to her DP or other family member.
She must have known you would find out so if it was the same one I probably wouldn't be so friendly with her in future.
