Can't bear him typical gay stylist over accessorises everything and why does he call boobs bangers yuk!he has terrible taste

oldraver · 27/10/2009 20:41

I dont like it when he says "sis-terrrr"

Wanderingsheep · 27/10/2009 20:43

He seems like a lovely guy but why does he say "girlfriend" all the time?

KarmaAngel · 27/10/2009 20:44

YABU I love Gok he can do no wrong.

DizzyIzzyLizzy · 27/10/2009 21:00

I agree Karma! Gok is God

stillfrazzled · 27/10/2009 21:10

I love Gok. Agree the auntie thing might be a bit too much, but I will be forever devoted to him for that episode where he styled a new mum. His voiceover went something like 'everyone, babies cause stretchmarks and change a woman's body - accept it and stop making them feel bad'.

Or similar.

I was three months post-PFB, baggy and wrinkly, and almost wept with gratitude...

Emprexia · 27/10/2009 21:12

Gok is God.

shush you horrid haters!

donkeyderby · 27/10/2009 22:47

Oooh, good. I wanted to start a Gok-hating thread but you got there before me. Gok, Gok, Gok - he can't stop saying his own name.

Gok. Another gay man telling women what to wear. Go away Gok.

beeny · 27/10/2009 22:50

OH donkeyderby I hate Gok,i like the impersonation kevin bishop does of him.

Spidermama · 27/10/2009 22:53

I love Gok. So does my ds.

I don't like his ridiculous voice over intonation. That drives me mad. But otherwise I really like the guy and 'show your aunty Gok' is just a typical queeny thing to say. Nothing weird about it IMO.

curiositykilled · 28/10/2009 08:22

I don't understand why it is necessary to 'look good naked'?

ROFL

HerBewitcheditude · 28/10/2009 08:26

LOL curiosity that has always been my position. The one time you don't need to look good, unless you are a porn actress, is when you are naked. By the time you've got to that stage, the average man doesn't give a shit what you look like.

itchyandscratchy · 28/10/2009 08:29

some of you sound like a load of old grannies on here!

Like Spidermama, it's just typical queeny-talk. Regardless of formulaic nature of programme and whether you like his style or not, I will also take my hat off to him (along with everything else) for trying to do something about improving female body-image and the stuff he is trying to do with promoting healthy body-attitudes for teens is fabulous and, sadly, very very necessary.

notyummy · 28/10/2009 08:29

Yes he can be over the top, and the 'bangers' thing gets on my wick...

Having said, compared to pretty much any other gay stylist, he actually seems to LIKE women, accept they have curves/lumps and bumps, and dress people to accentuate the positive. That, I like.

curiositykilled · 28/10/2009 08:32

Yes, exactly! lol! I think I'd also object to the premise it was necessary for the 'whole world and his wife' (typical grumpy granny phrase) to look at me 'look[ing] good naked'...

Chandon · 28/10/2009 08:34

I think he is really patronising.

I don´t like his style, it´s always high heels and very colourfu clothes (maybe I have lived in the sticks for too long, but would like to see someone try a Gok look on the village school run)

...despite all that, I always watch... , I guess it´s ncie to see how how normal women look-

I thought Trinny and Susannah were better though!

Chandon · 28/10/2009 08:38

Have to add I am always horrified-delighted to see these women letting themselves be photographed in baggy old knickers and ugly old bras.

If I were to appear on that show, and have pics of me in my undies plastered around town, I´d at least wear something :
1.) matching (last night´s lady had baggy red cotton undies and baggy old white bra)
2.) fitting (I say BAGGY undies )
3.) pretty (doesn´t have to be LaPerla, but nice new M&S ones)

What do you think ?
