....who waved his bucket at me and said "spare change for the disabled love" (as I was trying to get my mother off a bus in a wheelchair) "Lovely how much are you going to give me for her"?

I did stick a quid in, but his face was classic

I have a very specific disability and a well-known charity campaigns for it in our city. They give you those boxes to fill with cash in your own home. The money is then collected and redistributed amongst 'sufferers' of the disability. So do I just fill it to the brim then spend it? It's my share, right?

Hee hee

I always say when asked to contribute to charity (now I have no income of my own) "Sorry but I already sponsor a child and that takes up all of my spare money".

I don't, however, point out the child I am sponsoring is in fact my own...

DH used to give over enthusiastic street collectors a run down of our finances when we werereakky broke and if they were overly pushy.....that worked but i'd always slink off in embarassment

Thesedays Imostly hang my head and scurry past- being that thereason i'm on benefits is two disabled children! Always feel guilty though

KimiTheThreadSlayingAxeKiller · 27/10/2009 13:40

So not unreasonable then
