Popped in this morning with DD to look at their halloween stuff - it was all over-priced tat. Had a quick look at the children's clothes which were rubbish and there was tons of cheap Xmas crap - is it just me? Why does everyone rave about this place

There was something depressing about it too - thye staff and customers looked equally miserable

Disclaimer - I don't have a problem with cheap shops - we often buy clothes in Asda/Tesco etc

YANBU

I don't get it, the clothes are really bad quality for the price.

I hate Primark too.

Compared to Tesco or Asda they are really not good value.

I personally love Matalan kids clothes, for me they have worn well, but the adults clothes are of very poor quality indeed. It is hit and miss, one time they might have fantastic childrens clothes the other time not and like someone said full of christmas tat. In the summer my friend bought this spotted top and outfit ensemble and it looked very good quality and fitted her perfectly looked quite expensive which it was not. £24 all together so yes its really hit and miss.

I'm not keen on Matalan as most things look and feel very cheap. The mens work shirts and ties are ok though and a few years ago I had a lovely summer coat but never seen anything nice since. Some household items are ok but no cheaper than other stores.

They cater far more for girls than boys but so do some other shops. The quality of childrens clothes isnt very good though so dont tend to look at them now anyway.

I hate Primark though and wont venture there but will go to Matalan once a year to stock up on shirts for DH.
