They are a pain in the arse but dc's love them and I wont deny them, yet.

ObsidianBlackbirdMcNight · 12/10/2009 21:37

They do when you give one to your DS to keep him quiet while you do something in the kitchen and he drops it and you tread it into the carpet with your bare feet. Gross.

chegirlknowswhereyoulive · 12/10/2009 21:38

They go black on contact with any fabric and are harder than weetabix to remove.

They stick like velcro to terry toweling so why are most bibs made of terry toweling?

They are rubbish to carry around for a baby snack because they cannot cope with travelling.

Babies like to hold them in their little fat hands and squish them and then rub them into the nearest non washable surface available.

'part from that they are great

see I remember that bit(14 years later) the mess, surely it isn't worth it

madlentileater · 12/10/2009 22:06

so true about the bananas but how else to waen a baby?

Morloth · 13/10/2009 09:25

We had to hold off on bananas because my Dad was severely allergic too them and a couple of my nieces had inherited it, so it wasn't until he was almost 18mths when he tried one.

Avocados were favourite, no need to mash, could just slice up a nice ripe one and pop in front of him. Ripe pears another, peel and slice and they fall apart in your mouth.

For clean up I used to let the dogs in.
