to think that Yates should offer more white wine than just Echo Falls?

Echo Falls is bleurgh.
I wanted a glass of white wine to go with my meal and all they had was Echo Falls.
So, I forced it down, as you do, but it was like drinking paint stripper.
"You can buy the whole bottle for £5" said the yoof behind the bar.
Actually, I would pay him £5 not to have the whole bottle.
Yes, I know I could have had a different drink.
But, I wanted wine.

I agree- wasn't it originally called "Yates' Wine Lodge"? I only drink red and last time I went they didn't have any at all, not one drop, only a very bad rose, which i don't drink either.

Yes, it was called Yates' wine lodge.
Our local one was burnt down recently (Blackpool) by a bad man.
I am beginning to think he has actually done us all a big favour, and should get a community award.

You ate food at Yates'

purepurple · 09/10/2009 16:00

Spooky, yes, and it was shite.
I ordered a salmon fishcake with salad.
It had no dressing, no coriander and no red onion as advertised in the menu.
We were in Manchester and had to eat quickly in order to get to a gig.
Yates' was the first pub we came to, after we came out of the hotel.

I ate at the one in York several years ago. It haunts me still. Your meal sounded about par for the course
