Parent at school has commented as her status update that she is shocked or something about 5/6 year old children playing out front with Year 5 plus children after school, then goes on to say she thinks it's new intake lot at our school. As it's a village that makes it quite pointed imo.

She says she's going to 'have words'. That's quite judgy and anal and condescending isn't it?

She's hardly perfect. She wears Crocs with 3/4 length trousers and a fleece fgs.

roffle at your judgyness!

I bet she gives hers fruitshoots too, but she buys them at the next village so you all don't know.

AnyFuleKno · 04/10/2009 22:41

Well she's commenting on her own DCs school then? Sorry, I don't think I understand the problem.

Agree with Captain about judgeyness of your remarks about her clothing - although if you were joking it's very funny!

hobbgoblin · 04/10/2009 22:48

Of course I'm joking in response. We all judge in our heads but there's no need to post on FB your criticisms of others, esp. in a way that makes it flippin obvious who you are talking about.

I've never dissed her dire dress sense but I could, I could also judge the shiteola posters she produces for school events, which I have to have pretend raptures about.

Crocs?? with 3/4 length trousers? How very dare she

curiositykilled · 04/10/2009 22:54

does the fleece have animals (cats/horses/dogs) on it? Does she holiday in a caravan?

AnyFuleKno · 04/10/2009 22:54

It's a very underused adjective, shiteola. Love the thought of you pretending to love the crap posters.

Do you think she's getting at you personally or summat?

TeeteringOnTheEdge · 04/10/2009 22:59

I have a FB "friend" who is nearly giving me heart-failure with her updates. I get unbelieveably OUTRAGED at them. I need to block her but I can't stop myself reading them.

But I do like a nice fleece..

hobbgoblin · 04/10/2009 23:02

No it's just an ordinary plain fleece. Sorry to disappoint, I'd have loved to have reported that I was having to reign self in from posting status updates such as "hobbgoblin is shocked that some mothers are allowing themselves to walk in public with 'big cats' or polar bears tapestried across their backs". She wears a Hrd Rock Cafe T shirt under.

I do let my 6 year old ply out, so perhaps she is getting at me. He's Yr 1 though and would be a bit odd to disallow him from playing with Yr5s since his sister is one.

Shall I tell you about the posters as a sort of revenge? It involves comic sans and Clip Art...

OP posts:
AnyFuleKno · 04/10/2009 23:09

Please describe the full awfulness of the posters. Consider this a safe environment to wreak your revenge.

Tortington · 04/10/2009 23:16

i dont think croc wearers should be allowed an opinion.

i hate people to post status updates as a way of getting a pointed message to people. i think its cowardly.

so in a mocking homage to her shit post

you should put

"Why do certain people put messages in status updates that are meant for specific people and their playmates!"

LoveBeingAMummy · 04/10/2009 23:20

quite passive agressive really. [her not you!]

hobbgoblin · 04/10/2009 23:34

Teetering, give us some non-identifying examples.

Maybe we should have a 'FB status updates you are glad you have never written' thread?

Okay, the posters.

Let me tell you how the Xmas Fair posters will look.

So, comic sans all through. lots of typos (mine are bf induced ). They will have Clip Art holly in each corner, a pixelated dodgy photo of Santa from last year's appearance placed in unaesthetically pleasing fashion mid page; there will be boxes around each paragraph where said designer will give herself her only climactic thrill of the entire xmas season by trying out all the given options under 'change text box format'...dotted, dashed, diamond, bold, thick lines, thin lines, green lines, red lines.........yawn....

apostrophe misuse galore. and overworn phrases such as 'bag yourself a xmas bargain' re. the second hand crap stalls. 'Regurgitate your xmas gifts here' would be more apt.

wouldn't mind but this woman demands praise and approval of her self righteosness.

miaow.

ItIsNotUCM · 04/10/2009 23:42

I am loving that!

CaptainNonentity · 04/10/2009 23:54

Is that you, CD?

StableButDeluded · 05/10/2009 00:54

Roffle at 'climactic thrill'

Pikelit · 05/10/2009 01:01

I'm loving shiteola. I'm not having any difficulty conjuring up a picture of those posters either. I've seen far too many of them at close range. All conjured up by the sort of people who use Incredifuckingmail.

SolidGhoulBrass · 05/10/2009 01:05

AH, what I used to call the round-ended scissors school of design...

LadyGlencoraPalliser · 05/10/2009 01:10

You've got to feel sorry for comic sans. It was a typeface of integrity once.

ItIsNotUCM · 05/10/2009 08:14

No it wasn't ever. Playbill has more appeal than the ghastly CM.

FlamingoBingo · 05/10/2009 08:24
  1. I don't understand what she's outraged about. Aren't children allowed to play with children of other ages?
  1. Crocs are bloody fantastic and you can all fuck right off saying croc-wearers shouldn't be allowed an opinion!

I'll have you know I am very funny, very clever, very lovely, and have very sensible opinions so

Although I do agree that crocs are fugly, they are also very comfortable and stop my back hurting.

bronze · 05/10/2009 08:34

I'm sat here in a fleece but at least I'm warm now. I will add its a nice fleece Kate Humble style rather than a nice cat design

but the fber is also talking bollocks

cantpooinpeace · 05/10/2009 08:45

Can I just ask - what have I missed about fruitshoots? keep seeing the odd comment on them I didn't think they were that bad!

answers please.......

GibbonInARibbon · 05/10/2009 08:47

Do people still use comic sans? Never trusted them tbh. Most I worked with always had a passive aggressive thing going on.

Makes sense such people would also do those pointed, yet oddly elusive enough status updates, to have the entire friends list thinking 'Is that aimed at me?'

PVish · 05/10/2009 08:50

I agree with custy
crocs are shit

GetOrfMoiLand · 05/10/2009 09:05

Goblin you must have missed the slag off everone who uses Comic Sans thread a couple of weeks back. Everyone on the thread slagged it off except teachers.

Think facebook is the root of all that is banally evil in the world.

Crocs, 3/4 lengths and fleece. She either has her hair styled a la Victoria Wood, or wears it up in a scrunchie.

Judge away.
