or are Huggies just totally rubbish?

Used one pack of Huggies when DD was newborn, found that they leaked a lot so never bought them again.

Tend to buy whatever is on offer (supermarket own or Pampers) - obviously do get occasional leaks but only when the nappy is hugely full (or there is a monster up-to-the-shoulders poo).
3 years down the line (with DD no longer in nappies and DS now 17 months old), partner bought a box of Huggies because they were on offer. They have leaked nearly every single night and often during the day as well.

I am sure that this cannot be the same for everyone otherwise they would be out of business.

DD was a teeny prem when she wore them and DS is a big bruiser so can't be that they fit fat/skinny babies better.

So is anyone happy with Huggies?

(I am not going to be converted to cloth I am happy with my current anything-but-Huggies Earth destroyers )

Huggies are crap.Before dd was born I bought them,and they leaked 90% of the time.We use pampers and have had no problem.

I've found the exact opposite - with both DS and DD, Huggies worked/work brilliantly and Pampers leaked all the time.

Weird.

Some babies fit some nappies better - found pampers were great with both boys when tiny newborns but as soon as they bulked up (they are both tall and slender with surprisingly chubby legs) pampers were rubbish and huggies fit them much better and the superdry ones dont tend to leak.

I always used pampers for my other kids but with dd the huggies are better.

First tried huggies when DD went into pullups as they were on offer,

cue turd escaping, down trouser leg and onto carpet! A whole entire turd!

And then it happened again

i found with both mine, huggies leaked, pampers gave them nappy rash so i used tesco own.

Used them when ds was newborn and the gel caused a hideous rash. Cloth nappies, never a problem (but I see you can't be tempted )!

Lidl nappies are cheap and very reliable.

I did not rate Huggies either (very stiff and leaky) for my DSs

Sainsburys or Pampers were best.

fun time - lidls are fab, ive just done 6 weeks with pampers for the first time with my 2 year old, never again. they were awful. i could have cried with joy when the pampers ran out i could go and buy lidls ones!

Same as Tidey, Pampers leak all the time and fit badly so I use Huggies. I guess it depends on the shape of your baby.

Mind you we are still on the search for the perfect pull up.

DD's nature ones leaked pee all over a pub seat this lunchtime luckily they were very good about it.

Pampers are best so far...

I reckon it depends on shape of child.

Different nappies suit different children. Ds1 was a very skinny baby, and the only nappies that fitted were Boots own. Dd was a bit more solid, and wore huggies with no problems. Ds2 wore pampers and then switched to cloth.

Obviously is a case of "find the nappy that suits the child".
So - Huggies no good for 33-weeker-chicken-leg babies or 17-month-old-prop-forward types.

I have used Pampers, Asda own brand, Tesco own brand, Morrison own brand and Lidl own brand (supermarket whore ) and none of them have been this bad.

Huggies much better for my children than pampers ... mind you I used cloth most of the time.

Pampers with newborn bf poo went everywhere when dh was holding dd1. Non-child couples were horrified, child couples found it hilarious! Never used again!

We had Sainsbury's own brand ones when DD was newborn and they worked well and were quite cheap. But then she went up a size and they went all leaky too. Trial and error, I suppose.

Huggies leak for me too - i bought some newborn ones and they were rubbish - find that pampers aren't much better either but i get on fab with Asda ones - nearly 8 months in and they are still holding their own.

Huggies were great for us. Could never get on with Pampers Baby dry, they just didn't fit. When he went into pull ups I found Boots own brand were great. Sainsburys were awful.

Sooty - what about a normal nappy with a cloth wrap over the top?

Sooty - DS1 was the same at 2 and a half. Maybe try special nighttime nappies - Huggies do one - which are abit thicker and can take bit more wee. Otherwise maybe do a quick nappy change before you go to bed if its looking full? Did improve when we stopped him drinking too much milk and water after 6pm.

sooty, I had the same problem with dd2 have you tried lidls own pull ups they hold much more wee than pampers or huggies, and they are loads cheaper

I prefer the supermarket own brand (Sainsburys or Asda) worked just as well as Pampers or Huggies. Yes imo Huggies are rubbish they leaked all the time and looked full when they were not so dd had the old nappy drag
