Missy - not many of us believe 'any old shite' the government tells us. Many of us go off and do a bit of research and make a decision based on it that is the best for our families. Weighing risk against benefit. What we don't do is go searching for a government conspiracy arround every corner. I like a good old conspiracy myself but your 'government in cahoots with drug companies' is a bit [yawn] TBH.

Missy8c · 28/12/2009 10:40

OK, here is another link with better punctuation. Note number 4 re: government aspect.
www.alternative-doctor.com/vaccination/16reasons.htm

saltyseadog · 28/12/2009 12:30

Missy8c - when I read it in a scientific journal with peer review, then I'll believe it .

Missy8c · 28/12/2009 16:52

Well you're hardly likely to are you Salty? Medical scientists are like the bloody freemasons and they're not going to cut off their noses to spite their faces or cut off their money supply for that matter.

blueshoes · 28/12/2009 17:51

oooo, the plot thickens ...

Keep digging, missy.

saltyseadog · 28/12/2009 20:05

LOLOL at freemasons . One biomedical sciences degree and I still haven't had my invite to the lodge goddamnit.

blueshoes · 28/12/2009 21:14

My lips are sealed.

Missy8c · 28/12/2009 21:44

I said they are 'like' the freemasons, not that they ARE the freemasons, and no disrespect Salty but a biomedical sciences degree doesn't really put you in the same league as the medical 'experts' advising the government does it?

blueshoes · 28/12/2009 21:53

Awwww Salty, you are not part of the great Government-Corporation-Medical Scientist conspiracy.

Really gutted for you since the whole world and their dog seem to be in on it.

pooexplosions · 28/12/2009 22:09

Missy, you sound barking. Are you seriously buying into all this conspiracy shite?

Get the vax or don't, whatever, who cares. But your sources are bogus and your wild finger pointing is worse.....

ilovespagbol · 28/12/2009 22:18

Its as safe as getting the seasonal flu vaccine, which changes each year so please stop scaremongering.

saltyseadog · 28/12/2009 22:33

But I sooo wanted to be in on the conspiracy . Do you think my Cycling Proficency and Blue Peter badge would add to my credibility on SF?

Missy - lighten up, there's a girl.

Missy8c · 28/12/2009 22:36

Oh whatever! If you've read my previous you will note that I don't accept any vaccines. Up to the individual at the end of the day so I won't be having it and I expect you guys will. If the government says so then it must be true eh sheeple? Good luck!

GoldQuintessenceAndMyrrh · 28/12/2009 22:51

Well, I guess you guys should be lucky that you have a government you can trust.

Bribery

  1. Norway only bought in Pandemrix.
  2. Turns out that the health organization that adviced the government had been funded by the manufacturers of Pandemrix, with some substantials sums of money.

Side effects

  1. You can only report side effects to your gp, at your gps office.
  2. The GP decides whether it is a side effect or not. If it isnt already on the list, it is not accepted as a side effect. So no new side effects are reported. This means that the official list of side effects are not reflecting the true picture, when they have decided in advance what will be regarded side effects, and no new side effects will be registered.

GP prescribed Diazepam to my son who experienced neurological side effects (spider on and under his skin, every night after receiving pandemrix) which I did not give him. He diagnosed anxiety, and did not accept that our sons experience had anything to do with the vaccine.

Some doctors said that guillame barre syndrom had never been associated with swine flu vaccine. Others said that neurological side effects such as my son experienced was highly likely. Sadly, our gp said "nonsense! your son is suffering from anxiety and you must look into the psychological reasons within your family"

I gave up. We saw a homeopath whilst on holiday in Spain, and after 2 weeks of homeopathic treatment, the spiders have gone. In fact, they manifested with a vengeance the first night, then nothing.

pooexplosions · 28/12/2009 23:24

Medical science bad, "homeopathic" magic sugar pills good then!
Well thats us all told.....

Barking.

scottishmummy · 28/12/2009 23:35

water has no memory.homoeopathy = quackery.flawed premise but proves power of placebo.

GoldQuintessenceAndMyrrh · 28/12/2009 23:55

maybe homeopathic remedies are quackery, I have never tried it before. But it does not change any of what happened prior to me giving my son condensed water, or whatever it is.

scottishmummy · 28/12/2009 23:59

glad your boy is well you must be regardless of reason

saggarmakersbottomknocker · 29/12/2009 14:18

It's rather insulting Missy to be branded as a sheep for vaccinating against swine flu. As I said before not everyone just goes with the herd and vaccinates whatever. Some of us have had sleepless nights deciding what is best for our children and many of us have done our best to make an informed decision on the basis of risk.

Lucky you if you haven't had to decide whether your child risks having a life-changing event from this illness. And if you have had to make that decision I hope you have read more on the subject than the hysterical limks you've posted here.

Missy8c · 29/12/2009 20:39

Saggar I did not brand people who vaccinate as sheep, simply those who just believe anything they are fed without looking at the alternative possibilities. I am a mother and of course have had to make decisions about vaccines. I have done a great deal of research in making my decisions and I respect anyone who has done the same regardless of which decision they arrived at. However, I do not have much respect for the intelligence of those who decide to vaccinate on the basis of only the information provided by the NHS/government. Many people routinely turn up at their doctors' surgery to have their babies injected with substances they have no idea about just because they are told to do so.I imagine that any anti-vaccination link I posted would be regarded as 'hysterical', whatever you mean by that, unless it is written by the health authorities which blatantly isn't going to happen is it?

saggarmakersbottomknocker · 29/12/2009 21:03

'so I won't be having it and I expect you guys will. If the government says so then it must be true eh sheeple? Good luck!'

I must have misinterpreted that post then

Your posts on this thread insinuate that anyone who vaccinates is a sheep/a bit dim for believing what the government says. Some people do do as you say and go ahead with vaccination without research and if you wish to open people's eyes and change that you'll probably have more success by avoiding the conspiracy theory line.

saltyseadog · 29/12/2009 21:35

How do you know that we haven't read extensively into the SF vaccine, or talked over our particular situation with multiple healthcare professionals?

I did not take the decison to vaccinate either myself or my dd lightly. Having seen my dd hospitalised with a collapsed lung and on IV antibiotics struggling to breathe following a chest infection (this was one of many hospitalisations - as saggar describes she is one of the children for whom catching SF could be a life changing event) I felt that taking all steps to protect her from SF was the best choice. I made the right decision for my family - that does not make me a sheep.

Missy8c · 29/12/2009 23:33

Yes you did misinterpret the comment saggar, but I trust I have now explained it. I did not say that any particular individuals had not researched. I said that I didn't respect the intelligence of those who hadn't. I wasn't pointing the finger at you salty. How would I know whether you had looked into it or not? I would however look beyond the advice of NHS or even mainstream private healthcare professionals as they will pretty much be singing from the same hymn sheet. What amazes me is the willingness of people to take a vaccine of any type where apart from any possible side effects, there is no evidence to even suggest that it works!

pooexplosions · 30/12/2009 00:09

Look beyond the advice of medical and scientific professionals to the advice of barking mad conspiracy theorists who write rubbish on homemade websites. Well done you, you're so smart!

What exactly is it that makes you qualified to understand and interpret the relevant research? Do you have any advanced degrees in bio-chemistry or immunology?
