Riven - I don't know what people would do. The few I have spoken to about the goverments being able to impliment using marshall law and fored vaccination programes have just laughed me off and called me a conspriracy theorists. I wish it were theory, but it is all in black and white.

FWIW, my family and I are private patients, not registered even with the NHS at all, and ds is homeschooled, so we would be under the radar for a while if forced vaccinations ever came in

YANBU

The Swine Flu Vaccine has not been tested so you have every right to be worries.

As the health service are now admitting most people only suffer with mild symptoms no worse than the flu I don't see the point of having yet another vaccine. As we don't really know yet what the long term side effects are as it's a new rushed vaccine which hasn't been tested. For that reason I won't let my Children have the vaccine but that's just my choice after lots of research.

At the moment we are the first Guinea pigs in line for the vaccine. Then if you have an undesirable side effect or two you can report it online where they gather the information so they can ad it to their disclaimer in the packet which more or less covers every possible side effect anyway. The list is horrendous like most medicine. You have to decide, does the benefit outweigh the risk? In my opinion no.

Everyone has to base their own choice out of their own research. That way they can't blame anyone else if things go in a way they didn't expect. It is your body, only you can decide what to do with it.

Hope everyone had a lovely Christmas.

Re: Squalene

From Wikipedia (not always the best source, but gives a quick overview)

"about one in ten people have squalene antibodies in their blood, regardless of whether or not they received squalene from a vaccination. A later study confirmed this result, and also showed that vaccination with squalene-containing vaccines do not alter the levels of these naturally-occurring antibodies. A third study showed that these naturally-occurring antibodies were no more common in Gulf war veterans than in the general population." (my emphasis)

It is not certain that the Gulf War anthrax vaccine contained squalene, from what I've read.

US vaccines do not contain squalene.

What is the difference between the swine flu vaccine and a flu jab (apart from the fact that they target different strains) that makes the swine flu job so much more suspect than the flu jab?

I assume the flu jab is also varied every year to take into account new strains.

Or do people who are fearful of the swine flu jab also not trust the flu jab?

Missy8c · 26/12/2009 21:42

YANBU. Have you seen what they put in vaccines?? Not just the swine flu one, but all vaccines. I wouldn't touch them with someone else's body let alone mine or my LO's.

blueshoes · 26/12/2009 21:48

How does it benefit the government to insist on injecting crap into our bodies in the name of vaccination? Are they in cahoots with big pharma companies???

Missy8c · 26/12/2009 21:49

Blueshoes....you got it!

blueshoes · 26/12/2009 21:54

And so the cost to the NHS of treating the vaccination- damaged generation of people is what ... nil??

Missy8c · 26/12/2009 21:58

But most of the vaccine damage is minor...reduced immunity, allergies, colds etc. etc. How is that treated? With over the counter pharma remedies of course! The cost of the more serious damage s offset against the population control element.

blueshoes · 26/12/2009 22:01

I can see how any mass government action brings out the conspiracy theorists.

Missy8c · 26/12/2009 22:06

Too right. Nothing wrong with thinking outside the box though. Vaccination is too important an issue to blindly follow the herd without examining all the possibilities. I always look at the bigger picture and most things boil down to money if you look closely enough.

TLESinChristmasStockings · 26/12/2009 22:14

I will not be having the vaccine nor will either ds. I had none of mine as a child nor has ds2, ds1 has had some.

blueshoes · 26/12/2009 22:16

Buying shares in pharma companies is thinking outside the box.

Believing that successive governments would organise mass exercises to inject the population with mild illnesses for the benefit of pharma companies (not oil, banks, mind you) is going into orbit.

I confess I don't have your imagination.

blueshoes · 26/12/2009 22:19

For the record, my dd 6 has had the swine flu vaccine. She will be going for her booster shot in a week. All she had was a sore arm for a day (known risk). Beyond the vaccine, she did not enrich any pharma companies.

My dh has the flu jab every year, a benefit paid for by his company. I don't. I don't think my dh remembers the last time he saw a GP.

Our family hardly falls ill. More than I can say for others.

fanjolina · 26/12/2009 22:37

blueshoes, the main difference between the swine flu vaccine and regular flu vaccines is the adjutant that is being used. It is the adjutant that is the cause of concern for most people.

ra29needsabettername · 26/12/2009 22:46

ds and i have both had it .Ds because he is vulnerable, I because i am an nhs professional. Lol at the idea of the government giving something to make all frontline healthcare professionals deliberately sick- that would make so much economic sense

Missy8c · 26/12/2009 22:55

Just one theory guys. We're all entitled to our own opinion! Of course they will vaccinate front line healthcare professionals. What a great way to convince the masses that it's safe and effective!

doobry · 26/12/2009 22:58

Please read this article.

Missy8c · 26/12/2009 23:06

And then read this one

vactruth.com/2009/09/11/ingredients-found-in-spermicides-cleaners-and-cosmetics-along-with-thimerosa l-and-squalene-present-in-experimental-h1n1-vaccine/

fanjolina · 26/12/2009 23:30

And of course, it isn't really a pandemic. Previously a pandemic needed to cause widespread deaths. But the WHO changed the wording in April/MMay this year and omitted the deathrate element of the description.

WhatNoLunchBreak · 27/12/2009 18:16

I have no idea whether the flu vaccine is more dangerous than H1N1, but I am always incredibly wary of articles that are punctuated with multiple "!!!!!"s - especially when they are purportedly from a scientific source. Smacks of scare-mongering and seems distinctly amateurish.

Just mho.

BarbieLovesKen · 27/12/2009 18:27

Of course you are nbu - quite sensible to keep yourself informed and not just take things as face value.

I am 36 weeks pregnant and not taking it - was sent a letter to have dd (4) vaccinated but definately wont be either. Not offering up either of my babies as guinea pigs.

blueshoes · 27/12/2009 19:46

Nolunchbreaks, how do you make people believe there is a mass conspiracy behind every tree if you don't end every other sentence with "!!!!!".

Missy8c · 28/12/2009 07:24

Well spotted guys! Having realised my stupdity in giving any credibility to an article with superfluous punctuation, I am on my way to get injected with toxins and animal parts as soon as possible. I do wish I was capable of blindly believing any old shite the government tells me. Life would be so simple.

saltyseadog · 28/12/2009 09:22

Missy8c - most credible scientists will have a post-grad degree - and as a result will have gone through 20+ years of education to get there. You would like to think that somewhere during that process they had learnt to write a scientific abstract with appropriate punctuation . Correct punctuation does add credibility.
