In somebodies downstairs toilet and you pebble dash the seat, the rim AND the cistern you should either bloody well clean it up or say to your guest "I'm ever so sorry, but I seem to have shat half of the River Nile around your bathroom, I'm now a bit weak, would you mind cleaning it?"

It was not a pleasant experience walking into that this morning and it had been there since yesterday P.M (she was the only one to use that toilet) so it's stuck fast.

And yes I know I should be more sympathetic to people with diarrhoea but a warning would have been nice!!

Do you have a toilet brush? If so, she should have used it herself. If not, then yabu, as she was prob too embarrassed to say anything.

traceybath · 25/09/2009 11:46

We used to have someone do this frequently in an office i worked in.

It was bizarre as there weren't many women and it happened regularly. In the end stiff emails were sent to all the women and it stopped.

Sorry - thats horrid of your friend - can not believe she didn't notice or think - umm that needs sorting. I mean if that was me - i'd have sorted it with some loo paper and hot water if necessary in someone else's house.

pigletmania · 25/09/2009 11:46

YABU to discuss such private and personal issues on a public forum about a good friend, but YANBU to feel that way about the state of your loo.

expatinscotland · 25/09/2009 11:47

piglet is the OP's mate.

pigletmania · 25/09/2009 11:49

Ehhh I dont think so just used to be a carer with people with disabilities so more empathetic that you lot. I used to have to clean up other peoples blood, sick, wee and poo myself and no i would not leave a loo in that state myself.

VindalooBungalow · 25/09/2009 11:50

Just lay off the cream buns when you're on Alli in future, Piglet, and this won't happen

ThePhantomPlopper · 25/09/2009 11:50

I've got them duck disposable pad things right next to the toilet.

piglet - I wouldn't be posting if I knew she was on MN and if she can do that to my toilet and with no attempt to clean it or even mention it to me, I think I can bitch about it anonymously on here.

pigletmania · 25/09/2009 11:51

As i said my dh loves clean toilets and is so fussy so have to watch my loo habits. A friend of mine did the same thing to our loo but she was on her period, blood on the seat round the bowl on the floor but i just felt sorry for her mabey too embarrassed. Just guess i am a bit soft.

expatinscotland · 25/09/2009 11:52

She can bitch about it if she wants. It's her toilet and she's the one having to clean it up.

VindalooBungalow · 25/09/2009 11:53

How can someone be too embarrassed to clean up - even with loo roll and water?

Surely it's more embarrassing to leave it all behind (haha!) you?

pigletmania · 25/09/2009 11:53

With your username Viandaloo i think that you should stay off the curries dont you think ewwww.

expatinscotland · 25/09/2009 11:54

'A friend of mine did the same thing to our loo but she was on her period, blood on the seat round the bowl on the floor but i just felt sorry for her mabey too embarrassed. Just guess i am a bit soft.'

She couldn't have been that embarrassed. Someone who's embarrassed usually tries to clean it up.

That's disgusting!

pigletmania · 25/09/2009 11:54

Yes Phantom has a right to bitch but can see things from another perspective

VindalooBungalow · 25/09/2009 11:55

My bowel motions are nice and firm, thanks Piglet

ThePhantomPlopper · 25/09/2009 11:55

Other peoples bodily fluids make me gag. How can you be too embarrassed to wipe up blood FGS?! What is embarrassing about it?! More embarrassing to leave it to be found surely?

OP posts:
PeedOffWithNits · 25/09/2009 11:56

leaving, literally, a bloody mess behind you in the loo is also not on. we all (most) have periods, decent folks keep their mess to themselves! why the hell should a friend/host have to clear it up afterwards

bleurgh!!

expatinscotland · 25/09/2009 11:56

I can see it from another perspective, too.

I have a very weak stomach and would seriously upchuck having to clean that up.

What if the OP does, too?

Not a nice thing to do to your friend.

And blood all over the floor and bowl? That's so nasty!

pigletmania · 25/09/2009 11:58

Yeh i know, it was my mums house when i used to live with my mum and mum was not very happy and pointed it out to me. Me personally i always look at the loo and in it after i have been for a number 2 and even more careful in others houses but just feel for the lady thats all. Oh thats good Vindaloo, nothing like a good firm one eh

pigletmania · 25/09/2009 11:59

I was so embarrassed for my friend i did not know whether to tell her or not

Ripeberry · 25/09/2009 12:02

God i feel sick

expatinscotland · 25/09/2009 12:04

You were more embarrassed than she was obviously, piglet, because she's a disgusting mare to have left that.

QuintessentialShadow · 25/09/2009 12:06

Sympathies.

Once when I had a party at our house, a friend brought a friend. This friend was sat in the same chair the whole evening. I later realized why. It was a massive blood stain after her, as I reckon she came on her period and was too embarassed to move.

But this is different, as there is no way she could have started cleaning up my cream arm chair without anybody noticing....

ThePhantomPlopper · 25/09/2009 12:11

Quint - Poor woman. I used to panic about that happening to me in school! I would have tried to smuggle your chair out with me I think.

OP posts:
QuintessentialShadow · 25/09/2009 12:15

Is there a chance that your friend might not even have NOTICED the state of the toilet after she had been?
