sexist shite or me being precious?

I am a member of a forum that is mostly blokes - www.theroadster.net

there are a small handful of women on it only.

Someone has posted this

I want it removing, but I know from previous experience I will get shouted down by blokes saying it is coz I am jealous, not as pretty, yadda yadda. All the usual lazy, ill-thought out responses really.

Also I know I will get very little to no support from the other women on there, given that a couple of them have already posted that they don't mind it.

am I being precious?

Have I missed something about Germaine then? What's she been up to?

trellism · 24/09/2009 11:21

I asked them to conjugate some Latin verbs and they refused.

claw3 · 24/09/2009 11:26

LOL @ this sexist shite as WE are all sitting here typing in commands while being totally disgusted by it all of course!

Sassybeast · 24/09/2009 11:28

They just won't discuss Sartre either

Thredworm · 24/09/2009 11:28

I couldn't bring myself to type anything in. It is horrible. The girl in the middle looks miserable -- but even worse, the other two girls look ok with it. If I typed anything in it would be 'Kick your pimping employer in the bollocks'.

trellism · 24/09/2009 11:30

I should ask them to take those ratty cheap hair extensions out. But their dead-eyed expressions repel me.

QuintessentialShadow · 24/09/2009 11:34

Well, guess what I said that made them leave...

Then ONE came back, undressed and sprayed cream on her boobs.....

QuintessentialShadow · 24/09/2009 11:37

All I said was simply:

Carrot

themoon66 · 24/09/2009 11:39

Carrot?? How odd.

Themoon66 - Do you think the site will removed it now you have posted it here and its had even more 'hits' and is proving to be even more popular?

themoon66 · 24/09/2009 11:47

I think they will remove it if I contact one of the moderators. In fact, one of the moderators has posted offering to take the thread down if anyone objects. Nobody has objected.

I asked them to make tea, but one of them put lippy on and then started snogging one of the others Think I'll make my own tea, then.

Torn really - I would feel embarrassed for him if I found that my DP genuninely (iyswim) enjoyed looking at things like this and it is clearly sexist shite, but no one is being forced to look at it.

The girls look over the age of consent and, no doubt, got paid (possibly not that well), and they are likely to have had some element of choice about their line of work. Although I'm sure there are plenty of other sites where girls are genuinely being exploited and abused, and I wouldn't know how to tell the difference or how to report it appropriately.

themoon66 · 24/09/2009 11:52

There are now 5 anonymous posters on that thread... the blokes are gonna wonder what the hell is going on on their car forum!

OP posts:
BunnyLebowski · 24/09/2009 11:54

Another weird one. Told them to do some ironing and they went off screen, came back wearing little white t-shirts.

Next some dude came out with watering can and poured water over their frontages and then gave one of them a medal, presumably for having the most impressive of said frontages.

Horton · 24/09/2009 12:17

Haha, carrot has made me laugh. Am now trying other random fruit and veg commands.

Tidey · 24/09/2009 12:20

Showed it to DP. He typed 'cartwheel' and they all wandered off, and one came back in her pants.

Tidey · 24/09/2009 12:23

And I just tried 'Write a novel' and one of them got a sign out of the car boot saying 'In your dreams'. WTF?

Wasn't there a man version of this?? Seem to remember half naked man and typing commands

themoon66 · 24/09/2009 12:41

I wonder if I should find the male version and post it there. Or would that make me bad?

Oooh I don't know why I'm having such an attack of the morals today.

Stayingsunnygirl · 24/09/2009 12:46

I tried telling them to register on mumsnet and they all shook their heads. They refuse to knit or sew either, and when asked to bake bread, they bugger off and one comes back reading the Sun.

But if you tell them to bugger off and come back reading the Sun - they do!!

juneybean · 24/09/2009 12:47

Doesn't bother me, would it be any different if it were men scantily clad?

Mmmmcoffee · 24/09/2009 13:03

I just thought this was funny.

I typed in Mexican wave and a mexican came on with a watering can!

themoon66 · 24/09/2009 13:41

Well.. it looks like it is slipping down their active convo list - so I won't have to worry about asking for it to be removed.

I bet they are wondering where all the anonymous guest users came from today though!

OP posts:
RedTartanLass · 24/09/2009 13:42

Doesn't bother me either, find it quite funny. Just feel really really sorry for those girls
