where has all my cutlery gone?

im very very confused ..... i suspect i have a gremlin who is eating my forks and tea-spoons . i keep buying more and still they go missing .... it must be a very hungry gremlin.
i have also taken to searching the bin before it is taken out.

have you cleaned out the teenagers dens?

i also have a sock gremlin, a tea-towel gremlin and a left- shoe gremlin.
. think i may have a marbles- gremlin too.

I ended up buying packs of 6 in the pound shop just to keep enough 'to hand'.

Do any of your lot take cutlery to work/school with lunches?

I am down to my last 4 forks because my ds1 takes them to work and doenst bring them back home

teenagers- that would be the oddly behaved larger children that speak only in grunts?
i have checked their rooms... no luck ....but i did find a new species of penicillin in their waste- basket

I reckon I used to lose mine in the polystyrene boxes kebabs come in - since we had the DDs and DH stopped getting ratarsed socialising as much, we haven't lost any...... He used to leave the boxes closed on the worktop in the kitchen and I would throw the stinking foetid things into the bin first thing in the morning - probably still with the fork inside.

aaaahhh packed lunches! -We could be onto something here , two middle kids always have packed lunches...

Get some placcy cutlery for lunches

With us it's packed lunches. And then they deny it, to the point that I've questioned my sanity. Now I give them those Frubes things - no need for teaspoons.

that explains tea-spoons , i think . they usually have little jellys or yogarty things.... but forks???? nope . ..its a mystery ,whats happened to them?

ive got horrible lovely plastic picnic stuff they are supposed to use for packed lunches.... still have full set - asda less than a quid . dont think they've been useing it.

what you need is a little lockable case for all the family cutlery.
it gets locked away at night with only you/ dh having the key so when they get their spoons for yoghurt in the morning they get crasppy plastic ones

problem with frubes is that ds2 has discovered they make a nifty impromtu squooshy "gun" for fireing at favorite sister on walk to school.

They're on holiday with my forks. Plenty of spoons though - maybe I have yours?

If it helps I have lost quite a bit of cutlery out the back of the drawer & down into the cupboard below...but the main culprit in this house is DH, who takes packed lunches with proper cutlery

seriously i must buy a packet of tea-spoons every fortnight.... mabey its a mission to keep all the fork/spoon makers in jobs? .
its a bit when we have guests in ......me- " oh yes we have two sittings for dinner"
DH -adds in "- BECAUSE WE CANT FIND ENOUGH FORKS! "

they`ve got my lovely bamboo-style handled cutlery and wont give it back...... damn you gremlins!!!!! >>

differentid - i have a problem with storage - clearly when i store stuff eventually it disapears!
perhaps there is a black-hole in my drawers thats just sucking everything in bit by bit, but forks and spoons first???

my teaspoons are probbly with yours, don't have anyone to blame but myself in this house. Mostly.

We have an underwear goblin though- it's getting ridiculous atm.
