...........or should I defer commenting on other threads until 100% sober?

Georgimama · 19/09/2009 22:56

God no. You don't think anyone else around here is sober, do you?

MaryBS · 19/09/2009 22:57

I'm completely pissed too! Am drunk in charge of a keyboard

scottishmummy · 19/09/2009 23:00

in vino veritas

moondog · 19/09/2009 23:01

If you can type, then go for it (love the idea of being drunk in charge of a keyboard). I lose the power of co-ordinating hand and eye after about 2 glasses.

Will you be saying something shocking then??

MaryBS · 19/09/2009 23:01

I am going to hell...

tulpe · 19/09/2009 23:01

My name is Tuple and I am an alco/MN-oholic......its been 3 minutes since my last drink/MN post

OP posts:
PortBlacksandResident · 19/09/2009 23:02

Most MNers are drunk - even the ones who post at 10:30am claiming they are at work....

tulpe · 19/09/2009 23:02

Tuple.......even!

No, nothing shocking moondog!

OP posts:
weegiemum · 19/09/2009 23:02

I always am slightly pissed before I say anything worthwhile!!!

Long live drunken Mumsnetting!!!

tulpe · 19/09/2009 23:02

PMSL Portblack!

Oh ffs. TuLpe!

You would think I could speak my own language.....pished or not.

OP posts:
tulpe · 19/09/2009 23:05

scottishmummy.......I will have that engraved on my headstone...

OP posts:
tethersend · 19/09/2009 23:06

I'm drunk too. Trying to think of the most innocuous topic for AIBU and predict how long it will take for a bun fight to break out. Probably about breastfeeding. Or benefits.

There should be some sort of prize for the thread that descends into anarchy the quickest, yet with the most inoffensive OP.

Am too drunk to think of one though...

tulpe · 19/09/2009 23:09

Tethersend......tell me, what is your drink of choice? I began with 3 glasses of the pink sparkly stuff, followed by a pint of Directors (yum.......much nicer than the 3 preceeding glasses of pink sparkly stuff) and finished with a particularly shabby glass of rose. Am thinking a glass of something robust and red from the wine rack in my kitchen may be in order.

OP posts:
Georgimama · 19/09/2009 23:09

It is impossible to write an innocuous OP about BF or benefits.

So glad other people are a bit pissed. When I MN sober I get into horrific arguments.

scottishmummy · 19/09/2009 23:12

bf/ff
working/sahm
always descend into acrimonious debacle

those topics are MN perenials

tulpe · 19/09/2009 23:23

oh and "AIBU to pay my nanny below minimum wage so I can fund the housekeeper and my net-a-porter habit?"

OP posts:
tethersend · 19/09/2009 23:23

Oh, sorry (see? too pissed to make my stupid point effectively) what I mean is, start a thread which is nothing to do with bf or benefits or sahm (saw that thread sm- it really escalated quickly. Am applauding your posts), and see how long it takes before it becomes an argument about one of those things. Because it will.

A thread entitled "AIBU to think kittens are really cute" or some such, which has somehow descended into a rabid bitchfest about parenting choices by page 12.

tulpe, I am on- ironically- mother's ruin. Gin and tonic. Who dares, gins

pasturesnew · 19/09/2009 23:26

oh no this has reminded me of the in the news ... woman bfs cat thread [boak]

tethersend · 19/09/2009 23:28

you are taking the piss, pasturesnew?

Right?

Right????!!!!

Actually, that's brilliant.

tulpe · 19/09/2009 23:29

Oh you see now, Tethersend, you have fecked up my plans for headstone......"who dares, gins" could well make it on there too ........hmmm Bombay Sapphire is a possibility as have yet to crack open the smooth, red option.....

Have made ver ver drunken decision. Tethersend. You start innocuous thread and we shall follow and help it descend into rabid bitchfest about parenting choices BEFORE page 12............

OP posts:
Ninks · 19/09/2009 23:31

YANBU but don't for the love of all that is holy EVER exaggerate your slight misdeeds, (as is a drunken person's wont) on AI fecking BU.

Other than that, wibble about the place with the rest of us!

piprabbit · 19/09/2009 23:32

Pasturenew, are you criticisng a breast-feeding women? on MN?
Breast-feeding is wonderful and natural and I will defend to then end a woman's right to BF - even if she doesn't have a baby, or indeed a cat.....

tulpe · 19/09/2009 23:32

Ninks
