If you want to run a race, then surely you can do that without being sponsored? Personally I give lots of money to my chosen charities every month by standing order and I have really started to resent the amount of people constantly putting sponsorship -forms in my face. I have non interest in other people running for 30 minutes on a lovely Sunday and don't feel like paying for it.

Sorry to be obvious, but in the immortal Grange Hill words 'Just say no'?

WhereYouLeftIt · 18/09/2009 21:30

YANBU. I do say no to them, but the shock on their faces makes it clear that it is very unexpected! Part of the reason I do it really .

You are not alone. I hate it too and like you i would rather give direct to MY chosen charities by standing order (which I do)

Tinfoil · 19/09/2009 01:33

YABU. You can always say no.

BetsyBoop · 19/09/2009 14:00

"I'm sorry but that's not one of the charities I support"
