to think its ridiculous that I'm still getting bailiffs letters through my door fir the previous tenant 6 years after I moved in?

and what should I do to make them stop?!

Get your landlord to write to them, recorded delivery, confirming that the previous tenant has left, and when they left, and whether or not they have a forwarding address for them?

call up the number on the letter, there should be one? you need to tell them that someone else lives there, if you have not alerted them how wil they know?
anyway if they havent come to collect in 6 years i doubt they will come now. yabu to leave it so long to contact them and tell them change of tenants though

I havent left it 6 years I do keep speaking to them and they say that they will take the address off the file then a couple of months later another one comes so Ive been sending them back.

Fir, it is an old trick to just tell a bailiff that you have moved so it would be a standard practice for them to continue to target a previous address until there is proof that either they are on the CTax bill at a new property or someone new is registered at the old property - and yes it does need to be drummed into them, they are trying to collect money from people who, often, do not want to pay so tenacity is part of the job.

Op, are you registered to vote and paying CTax at your new address? If you are then call the number on the letter and point out that you are registered at this address and that you have no forwarding address for the previous tenant. Then give them the contact details from your tenacy agreement for your lanadlord/agent and suggest they write to them for a forwarding address but that you expect all contact with you to cease with immediate effect.
