Really? AIBU?

Could I stay in my bed all day, with a three year old? Really?

OH I WANT A LIE-IN!

Does anyone else have those days where they don't know what to do, but can't be bothered to do anything?

I know what I need to do just can't be bothered to do it.

Sigh

IdrisTheDragon · 12/09/2009 09:01

I think differentID thought you might be a poster called dizzymare who has been in hospital recently. But I don't think you are as your DC is the wrong age.

differentID · 12/09/2009 09:01

sorry, are you a name change?

Do you have anyone who could entertain your little one while you stay in bed?

thesouthsbelle · 12/09/2009 09:04

i would - have a jarmie day, put the tv on get books & toys, for them to play with and play with them in bed. then again ds would get bored after lunch!

imalwaysatthehospital · 12/09/2009 09:04

I've just climbed back into bed. I just can't open the curtains.

DD is sitting with me reading a book.....

OP posts:
thesouthsbelle · 12/09/2009 09:05

is it a one off?

imalwaysatthehospital · 12/09/2009 09:06

oh ok, I'm not dizzymare.

No, I'm going to have to get up. Those days of lie-ins are long gone.

Although I think its a tracksuit morning......lazy lazy day....

And the windows need cleaning

OP posts:
imalwaysatthehospital · 12/09/2009 09:07

yeah it's just a one off. I had a late night and I've just realised how impossible it is to have lie-ins anymore....

And why do you automatically wake up at the crack of dawn even when you don't have to, when you have kids???!!!

masonicpixiesreadthedailymail · 12/09/2009 09:13

lolling around in bed would be lovely

I tried to make duvet bears into a game with my nippers

Didn't really work

If you have been spending lots of time in hospitals no wonder you are knackered. Can't you farm yr dc out to someone and have a bona fide bed in?

imalwaysatthehospital · 12/09/2009 09:19

Ah shes watching tv now. I love tv!

No one to farm her out to today

BTW the name is a reference to the fact that It feels like I'm always there, ok maybe five times in the last few months.... nothing major, just kids!

OP posts:
lilysam · 12/09/2009 09:25

I love tv also - myself and kids still in pjs, watching tv and playing toys. Nothing really to do except organise lunch in a few hours. The DS down for afternoon nap

DD's had her first week at school so we're having a quiet morning.

If you've got nothing to do really, then who cares when you get dressed ...Enjoy!

thesouthsbelle · 12/09/2009 09:26

it's built into us, notice dads don't lol.

shouldn't worry if it's a one off - we're going to be stopping in our jarmies until about half 11, when DS has a childrens party to go to - if he didn't then well we'd not get dressed either!

Dads never notice!!!

Yeah I'm probably a little bit down but it's an ongoing situ which I'm getting used to.

The low grade depression and anxiety really sucks at times. I think I'm tired after having a week back in routine. plus late night!

But you know when you just get used to living with depression - that's what I'm doing at mo. Its getting a little better though

I'm planning on getting up soon and getting showered.....and maybe doing something productive!

activity and social contact help with depression.lolling about in bed tempting as it is,doesnt

scrub up,pop some mascara on
hope you have a good day

Emlouwhite · 12/09/2009 09:41

My DP has just taken both Dc's to the park to give me a lie in... but I'm up and wide awake, it's typical, every other day this week I would have done anything for a lie in, and when I get the chance, I can't do it!!!

I find you always feel worse off for it anyway!
