to be furious with my local council for removing barriers outside school?

My dd's school is on a busy roundabout. Over the summer break the pavements have all been replaced with smooth tarmac. This is great, but there used to be barriers / railings on all four street corners and outside the school gates. They have now all gone, and are not being replaced. Yesterday it was chaos, with mums trying to keep their dc's away from the busy road. This roundabout has been the site of many accidents in the last few years. I have rung the council, and am waiting for a 'road technician' to call me back to explain.

YANBU - wait to hear what the road technician says. It may have merely been an oversight.

That doesn't sound right or sensible. Let us know what the council say.

Wait to see what the road technician says cos there may have been a mix up.

There should be barriers outside though - I saw a nasty accident that could have been halted by barriers. Said school still doesn't have them though
