....painting out the mermaid and dolphin murals in dd's bedroom that have been her friends since she was 4 so that she can have her white, blue and gold stars theme that she has been planning all summer? After all she is only 13............!!!!!

expatinscotland · 02/09/2009 19:49

Aw! An era has passed.

Milliways · 02/09/2009 19:58

Aah! YANBU

My DD is planning her Uni room now

slowreadingprogress · 02/09/2009 20:16

It never seems as if these times are passing, does it, but all of a sudden you're there! Aww.

blametheparents · 02/09/2009 20:20

My DD (4) would LOVE a mermaid mural, shame it is not transferable!
Mermaids and Ariel the Mermaid Princess are her favourite things!

thumbwitch · 02/09/2009 20:22

no, YANBU at all, and thank you - I will ensure that any future lovely "muriels" I paint will be removable so that DS doesn't just paint them black when he hits 14.

seeker · 04/09/2009 18:24

It's all white now, but she and dp had the idea of painting carefully round a couple of the dolphins - they look fab, and she is SOOO pleased to have kept them, especially the one over her bed that she talked to for years! Blue woodwork nearly done. She is going to spend Sunday doing the gold stars.

oh seeker, that sounds lovely! So glad she decided not to paint over her "friends", she might have regretted it hugely.

nickschick · 05/09/2009 00:42

Dont cry because its over - smile because it happened,

pruneplus2 · 05/09/2009 00:45

God, YABVU. Dolphins and Mermaids are proper creepy.
