at the fact that the DSSs' mother is begging telling them to go home to keep the new au pair company?

We did warn her that a 12 year old and a 14 year old didn't actually need an au pair...

It is funny though isn't it? i'd be sniggering too Anna. The fact that a mother is asking her children to come home to keep the au pair company is quite funny in a haha way and an odd way.

scottishmummy · 05/09/2009 22:40

2nd wife bellyaching about 1st wife.woah dont go there

expatinscotland · 05/09/2009 22:43

Times like this I sometimes wish I were drunk.

mathanxiety · 05/09/2009 22:44

A daily cleaner? How much mess could two teenage boys possibly generate? Also rofling at the idea of the poor au pair so lonely she has to rely on two teen boys for pleasant chit chat .

scottishmummy · 05/09/2009 22:44

aye me too

hf128219 · 05/09/2009 22:45

You know something I'm still confused!

scottishmummy · 05/09/2009 22:46

more wine!

OurLadyOfPerpetualSupper · 05/09/2009 22:46

Well, it kind of is funny - but not because it's a bad idea for teenagers to have someone around to look after them.

It sounds as if the ap is not quite the right person; if she was (presuming it's a girl), a 12 year old and a 14 year old would want to spend time with her.

12 and 14 are not so old that they're totally 'cool' and sorted - spending time with a charismatic twenty year old would appeal to most, I'd have thought (conspicuously not engaging in the caracter anhialation(sp?) of the OP but disagreeing anyway.)

expatinscotland · 05/09/2009 22:50

I think it might be time for bed for me.

Between this and DH watching 'Catwoman' with Halle Berry, which for some reason I'm finding hysterical, I think it's time.

Merrylegs · 05/09/2009 22:52

She may be a 'crap mother', but she is still their crap mother.

Still, good job they've got you to 'pick up the pieces', eh?

scottishmummy · 05/09/2009 22:57

halle berre got razzie for catwoman. she was a great turn turned up to make speech. haha cited her agent

expatinscotland · 05/09/2009 22:59

she's fab in this role, too, SM. what's more, it looks like she laughed all the way to the bank making it. it's a film that's just taking the piss out of itself.

scottishmummy · 05/09/2009 23:02

i like halle, and she is a good turn

expatinscotland · 05/09/2009 23:03

i actually like this better than the michelle pfeiffer spin on it because this film is not taking itself seriously at all.

i also adore cats.

hf128219 · 05/09/2009 23:05

Utterly, utterly confused.

scottishmummy · 05/09/2009 23:06

nah i am not a cat person.but aye pfeiffer effort shite

hf128219 · 05/09/2009 23:07

expatinscotland · 05/09/2009 23:08

there are some very cool cats in this film.

scottishmummy · 05/09/2009 23:09

yes classic English taut but straining chemistry

expatinscotland · 05/09/2009 23:11

this is so fucking funny i can't possibly go to bed.

BitOfFun · 05/09/2009 23:12

I love Brief Encounter too- I can't help but feel like talking terribly terribly posh after watching it

scottishmummy · 05/09/2009 23:14

what about brief encounter with 1st wife's au pair meets catwoman-now that has some arse kicking qualities

BitOfFun · 05/09/2009 23:15

That is a movie I would pay to see

expatinscotland · 05/09/2009 23:15

and catwoman looks as gorgeous as halle berry.

no wonder DH isn't complaining about being tired.

at least he has good taste.

scottishmummy · 05/09/2009 23:16
