at the fact that the DSSs' mother is begging telling them to go home to keep the new au pair company?

We did warn her that a 12 year old and a 14 year old didn't actually need an au pair...

Who's picking up the tab - dh?

IdrisTheDragon · 05/09/2009 22:13

Presumably your DH must have loved her once. So she can't always have been awful.

scottishmummy · 05/09/2009 22:14

carping about the 1st wife.how dull

hf128219 · 05/09/2009 22:15

Are you a bit because he has a past?

ZZZenAgain · 05/09/2009 22:18

nearly choked on my sandwich at Vinegar Tits' suggestion that the cook keep the au pair company.

Maybe she wants someone there so she feels freer to go out at nights more or something like that - or is she there to improve the boys' language skills?

I'm confused. The boys were with you and she told them to come home?

minko · 05/09/2009 22:25

Is she fat like that model you were bitching about the other day too? Telling us how slim and chic you all were over in Gay Paris...

Rollmops · 05/09/2009 22:27

minko, dear minko, would you believe, there actually are some not so terribly corpulent mothers out there. [rolls eyes]

Answer the au pair/ex wife issue. without getting your drawers in a twist what anna may or may not have said else where

carrying over other threads is distasteful

expatinscotland · 05/09/2009 22:29

this is like some kind of parallel universe.

expatinscotland · 05/09/2009 22:31

scottishmummy · 05/09/2009 22:31

Rollmops · 05/09/2009 22:32

Dear me, did I upset your sensitive sensibilities, shineon?
Ever so sorry and all that [yaawn]

OurLadyOfPerpetualSupper · 05/09/2009 22:32

I know a family who had male au pairs for a couple of summers.
The youngest kids were boys aged 13 and 15.
It worked out really well for them as the parents both worked ft, the ap would do things like play rugby or basketball with them in the local park, go to the cinema, or the mum would organize something practical like painting their bedrooms.
Think she once got him to organize the photos!

All this au pair business is a world away from my life, but I still think having someone around to keep an eye on teenagers if you can't be there is a good idea.

OurLady - like hiring an older brother? That makes sense to me. Unlike the rest of this thread! Like accidentally watching 2 minutes of a soap opera you've never seen before.
