To remove all bookcase and shelves to cut down on the dusting

you need on of those pledge fluffy static duster things ,then you get the dcs to do it

Glass-fronted cabinets need much less dusting than open shelves.

Lower your standards - it is the easiest solution and requires you to nothing.

Dusting? What's that?

Just push all your books right to the front of the shelves then you won't have anything to dust.

Glass-fronted cabinets are good for ornaments but they can trap moisture and cause damage to books.
