To feel uncomfortable visiting my father's family with my step-father?

My mum and I decided to take my DS to meet my aunt and cousin. I haven't seen them for years. My step-father wants to come to, but I feel unsure about it. They will get on fine but my dad has no contact with my mum and step dad and I feel a little disloyal by visiting his family with them. What is your opinion? Thanks

You're visiting some members of your family (your aunt and cousin) with other members of your family (your mum, step-dad and DS). If your step-dad was not the cause of the end of your parents' relationship, there's no disloyalty to your dad that I can see.

I would ask your aunt and cousin. It's rude to take people to meet other people if they haven't been invited. I remember my husband's granny being upset when his ex wife came to an arranged visit and brought her new boyfriend along. Had she asked first it would have probably been OK.

Ask your cousin and aunt and let them decide.

Thanks for your thoughts. My aunt and cousin are happy for him to join us, it's me that is not so sure! Fortunately because of a mix up over dates I can't go now anyway, I am relieved
