To think Amanda Holden is a bitch

She was on Alan Carr tonight and was gratuitously unpleasant and unbelievably bitchy about Susan Boyle.

I didn't watch 'Britain's got Talent' and am not a particular Susan Boyle fan, but it strikes me that someone with Susan's background needs to be treated really sensitively and I couldn't believe what I heard tonight.

How interesting that the very same people that have for five days bleated on endlessly about the Daily Mail and its attitudes to women are on this thread using words and phrases such as:

Slut, slag, whore, pig ugly, rough, haggard and 'lies there and opens here legs.'

...to describe another woman and mother

right on sisters.

I just watched it on C4OD. She did come across very bitchily, but probably no worse than I would expect her to have done.

I thought she looked stunning in that dress. The comments on here about the way AH looks are no better than the comments she made about SB.

I turned over when they started slagging SB ioff. I was genuinely shocked that anyone would be that bitchy about someone so vulnerable and on telly

Except that AH is a professional media whore who chose to pick on a vulnerable person who's already had documented mental health problems as a result of AH's show, so the two aren't really comparable.

Picking on celebs = ok.
Picking on people who've been mercilessly exploited by Simon Cowell et al = not ok.

That all depends. If you have just appeared on TV slagging somebody off for the way the look, it's perfectly reasonable to receive the same.

I've never warmed to Amanda Holden, but could never put my finger on exactly why. I think she's answered that question for me now. I'm not sure I agree with some of the nastiness on this thread but I do think Amanda Holden may just have committed career suicide.

I for one would not miss her on tv one little bit.

to an extent you go on a show like carr - dont expect to be asked about the merits of free trade as a mechanism of regulating the market. he is known buffoon

It was truly awful within the first few minutes we were trying to work out whether she was drunk or stoned, her nipples were out and proud and what came out of her mouth was vile. It really could be her downfall.
