My daughter who is 6 months old is laying on the floor and sucking her toes. All smiley and chubby and gorgeous. My friend looks down at her and says...."One day a man is going to love that you can get into that position."
Yuck it made my skin crawl...am I a prude? I don't think I am I think it's a horrible thing to say.

What the hell goes on the the mind of your friend? What ever it is they should keep it to themsleves!

Gross!

Woooozle100 · 15/08/2009 11:28

its not funny. Tis crass and completely innappropriate but not as bad as made out by some of other comments. Prob more ill thought out than anything - if sexual innuendos are basis of much of her humour then she prob just comes out with this sort of stuff at any opportunity without thought - rather than seeking to sexualise babies, if that makes any sense

just say to her you find her comments icky. If she persists with such humour knowing it makes you uncomfortable then maybe time to focus on other friendships instead

thatsnotmybelly · 15/08/2009 11:30

Not funny.

But then I'm always surprised at the number of very well meaning but nonetheless icky comments along the line of "go on my son" and "get it while you can" and "they won't always be that easy to come by" when my little boy is breastfeeding.

MANATEEequineOHARA · 15/08/2009 11:32

That is so gross, that is surely not a thought that would cross a normal mind!?

TheDMHatesMe · 15/08/2009 11:33

Vile vile vile. I know somebody who would say things like this - it just makes me cringe.

Rindercella · 15/08/2009 11:34

Not funny. YANBU. Your friend is totally inappropriate.

purepurple · 15/08/2009 11:47

your friend obviously has very low self esteem and sees her role as being a sexual object for men and her purpose as being to please men
she is obviously very screwed up and i feel sorry for her children if their mother thinks their only purpose in later life is to please their sexual partner
what a sick saddo

QuintessentialShadows · 15/08/2009 11:48

You know, there are a few sick people out there. I have been here a good few year, and there was a poster who would post "inappropriately" at regular intervals about babies in snowsuits, insinuating the baby had shown some pleasure from being dressed in it, other than the normal baby giggles. I think he/she was banned.

Woooozle100 · 15/08/2009 11:54

yes thatsnotmybelly. I got loads of them comments too

my uncle said when I was bf my newborn son 'Ooh lucky bastard. Can I have a go?' wrong on so many levels.

I put it down to him being somewhat thick and ignorant and deflecting a situation which he found uncomfortable with his 'typical' humour. Rather than him actually wanting to suck on me tits and thinking my baby was having some sort of sexual experience. Ewwwwwwww all the same

VeronicaMars · 15/08/2009 12:13

That's really disgusting but I have to say it's something my sil would come out with. She also has no idea when something is just tmi when it comes to talking about her sex life.
Some people are very strange.

KIMItheThreadSlayer · 15/08/2009 12:23

not nice at all

LadyPinkofPinkerton · 15/08/2009 12:35

That is so disgusting! I would be distancing myself from that friend for certain.

I can't even think how that would come into her mind

landrover · 20/08/2009 12:50

horrible
